Can anybody here make a simple shading tutorial for a rookie MS Paint user like me?
I want to change my technique on making skins and I really need it ASAP!
Thanks for reading! Admin/mod comment

MS Paint ? You must be joking, right ?
Use Paint.NET, or Gimp. I like more Pain.NET If he's requesting a MS Paint tutorial then give him a MS Paint tutorial, not those noobish crap like Gimp or Paint.NET.
Anyway, i don't have any, sorry, learned how to do it alone You should use Paint.net. I Use it for shading and stuff. Nem has written
Pain.NET
Sado-maso-much?
Anyways. He knows how to use GIMP and Paint.net, he just needs to do it in Paint. For Christ sake. MSPaint is 100% shit for making shadows etc. cause it won't save your previous colorsets/colors. You have to make the whole gun in 1 go, that's why it's the worst program to use. Alistaire has written

Or you can use your brain and save the colors in a kind of pallete in the same file as the skin you are still editing, and not clicking a stupid saving tool...
Anyway, stop that crap of tools, f**k Gimp, f**k PaintNET.
I think you guys can't understand that he's asking about a >>MS PAINT SHADING TUTORIAL<< Nem User Offline

Umad ?
MS Paint for shading ? Thats totally crazy. Shading in MS Paint is almost same as P.Net imo, but hard a bit. or thousand bits. Yeah, because in Paint.NET you click a tool and it do everything for you... differently of MS Paint.

What the hell do you mean ? Making shading in MS Paint is pixel-by-pixel, and in Paint.NET it's just clicking a gradient tool and done! Tadaaa! Nem User Offline

Thats a little dumb
Gradient for shading ? worst chose.
Look here:
http://unrealsoftware.de/files_show.php?file=3409
And open screen with 200% zoom (not smoothe one). Now look at dark handle thingy. (i dont know how to call it. but light pump handle thing in front made without gradient, pixel-by-pixel.)
And can you say about it ? This sucks hard, i know. Thats because i used gradient
Now look here: (not my best btw, heh)
http://unrealsoftware.de/files_show.php?file=3723
I DID NOT used gradient, its looks alot better
For small works, such as sprites for DC's game, gradient SUCKS at shading, maybe it will be better for biggest sprites, but i dont know.
Thats my imo. So what? Do you really need another program to paint pixel-by-pixel with that laggy interface?
And MS Paint is the adequate program for pixel art or sprites design, since it's fast, simple, and to the point. Mechanolith has written

Laggy enterface ? Go wash your eyes, lol.
Paint.NET is fast too, have ALOT of plugins, and if you dumb enough to do not understand P.NET or Gimp interface, thats not the point to call P.NET a shitty program.
At first through (maybe that word is wrong, lol), Gimp interface was ugly and hard to understand for me, i just deleted it and DL'ed P.NET, he's interface similiar to MS Paint, and i am happy with it. And i dont have to call Gimp a crappy one because that was pretty hard to understand it in first look. Yates has written

Plugins that make everything for you, exactly what i said above and you disagreed.
And if you are dumb enough to don't understand the meaning of fast, simple and to the point you really need to read the whole comments next time. Obviously Paint.NET is not fast, not simple and totally not to the point.
Interfaces are always easy to understand, but people who make real skins doesn't need all that s**t of plugins, transparency, mettalic effects and other crap included on programs like Photoshop and Paint.NET.
But just stop that s**t, Paint.NET still sucks to me and for much people who like the practicality e simplicity of MS Paint. edited 1×, last 06.07.11 09:20:30 pm

Arent you idiot ?
Even if you have 1000 plugins, and you dont know where and how to use them, they dont will make everything for you.
Are you so slow as MS Paint ? It faster only when you starting it.
I dont care what do you think about P.Net, thats your opinion, just keep it in your mind, dont share it that way.

I think there is no rule against that...
And it's really annoying to see how people can't read the thread, and start suggesting other programs, that's not a thread for that, but for a tutorial of

You started this shit with "not those noobish crap"
No rule ? Maybe, but ->

<- Go read.
If you dont like this, dont say 'its dumb because i think that and its noobish'. that always brings holywar.
Now i am gonna leave you alone in this thread with your opinion, and gonna back to Visual C++
No wonder if we get violations for this. But i totally hate when someone comes and start: "THIS IS NOOBISH SHIT!" and that kind of quote some letters before its really noobish Yeah, and i hate when some one comes with: "Haha, i'm a retarded who can't understand what the topic means, so i'll not post a tutorial but suggest another program because it's easier and everyone uses it!"
Btw, i already read that "Unreal Software, we need to talk" thread, and it doesn't says nothing about users getting mad and yelling because someone insulted their loved programs...
