the thing is, many open source OS dont have many things appealing for the users, thats where Microsoft gets the big bucks, they have whole teams dedicated to the user preference and stuff (yes, some people actually uses those feedback systems) and with out all that eyecandies and all those nonessential stuff, the Open Source OS' wont get many customers, since their main users are programmers or more "Advanced" computer users, but it would be nice to have a "OS Reform" to stop the monopoly and generate some competition that could eventually lower the cost of OS

Actually, OpenOffice looks nearly the same as Microsoft Office (depends a bit on used Styles and Widgetsystem)
A friend of my parents (adult, with Reading-Writing-Disorder!) switched to OpenOffice and got happy with it (at least happier than with MS Office )

Actually, MS get those much money because
a) Their Software is expensive
b) Most people are to stupid/lazy to look for cheaper alternatives

You really don't know how many eyecandy is possible on Linux
I'll see that I get some screenshots for you, or some videos.
If you want a fast reference, look out for MacOS X Eyecandy. With Beryl/Compiz you get similar effects

This implies to me that all programmers aren't advanced
Actually, they are too, or otherwise Windows would even be crappier than now

Actually, most modern Distributions of Unixoid systems (Linux, *BSD, Darwin) are pretty user friendly. Even the setup is much easier than windows, some Linux-Distros already had Graphical Installers in 2000 (my first Linux, a rip off of RedHat 6, was one of these)
*BSD are a bit creepy to install, but for someone with experience in installing windows it shouldn't be a problem.

Search on YouTube or Google Video for Beryl/Compiz videos, imho they are the best eyecandy.
As example you can take this one
Made with Ubuntu Edgy and Beryl

The Water effect shown oin the last minute needed too much CPU you see

ok, yeah, i ran an linux computer and it does have some great graphics, and many of the things you say are true, i currently use openoffice though most my friends prefer MS Office since openoffice might have a runtim error once in a while and they just entirely backs away from it

lol, BSD was a nightmare for me, thats why i switched, anyways, your right on how most people are too lazy to search for better alternatives, its basically most OSs dont advert their products much, and to most people who use computer, most don't even know how to open the console and many more are almost completely "illiterate" on computers and only knows how to do the most simple interactions (MS Word lol)

then again, there's no real good reason (besides its free) that the average Joe would switch to Linux, i mean, Linux is great for programming, especially since its built open source (lifting many windows restrictions) but since most computer already came with Microsoft, i really don't think most of the people will care to switch, and that is only a small percentage of the computer users who actually heard of the term Linux or Unix, or free (jk)

Ok that grinds my goat.
Why that expression, is it a expression?
I don't know but it sounds like it.
xDDDD

Well yes and no. It is a combination of 'Get's you goat' and 'Grinds your Gears'. Imagine a goat jamming machinery...

"You know what really grinds my gears? This Lindsay Lohan. Lindsay Lohan with all those little outfits, jumping around there on stage, half-naked with your little outfits. Ya know? You're a... You're out there jumping around and I'm just sitting here with my beer. So, what am I supposed to do? What you want? You know, are we gonna go out? Is that what you're trying to - why why are you leaping around there, throwing those things all up in my, over there in my face? What do you want, Lindsay? Tell me what you want? Well, I'll tell you what you want, you want nothing. You want nothing. All right? Because we all know that no woman anywhere wants to have sex with anyone, and to titillate us with any thoughts otherwise is - is just bogus." -the family guy movie.

Want to know what really grinds my goat? Retarded websites. Sorry for the term, but nothing ticks me off on the same scale as these websites. They always have the same dang thing, a tab on the left side of the screen, a picture of something in the middle, and then a couple pop ups just to piss you off.

Such as these(don't actually go to them or you'll get adware and spyware on your comp)
www.pie.com
www.unrealsoftware.com
www.goggle.ca

I hate them because say you're going to a site but accidentally hit .de instead of .com or miss a letter and then you go to a retarded site. Hate!

I don't understand what you mean with "retarded", the right term for those sites is "captured".
But I agree with you, this crap is getting on my nerves, too.

a tick with cams to both sides (inside your body of course)
Since we are speaking about those pages:
someone encountered one of those alert windows saying "Your Computer is affect. Press OK to let it get scanned online! And Download our Antivirus, too!"?
I hate them
not only that they are in the way and promise something (almost) complete impossible, they doesn't even check if my OS can be endangered.
I can neither run they Antivirus nor any Viruses on Linux, not even with Wine. And my UserAgent should tell them
Okay, I was able to stop them with NoScript, but I still get the creeps when I think about them...

No and these sites don't bring you viruses, they just make money with these ads

Actually none site can bring you any viruses (at least thoretically, JS exploits don't matter if you get NoScript) just if you download a program, as example a tool, you will maybe get malware with this tool.

Never believe any crap that people you don't know send to you; and I wasn't talking about downloading viruses. How do you think cookies are downloaded? You do not manually download every single one. The same with adware and spyware. They download on your computer when you go to an untrustworthy site.

+1 Point

Another thing that grinds my goat. Firstly, I love gmail. It's one of the best email sites ever, with all the sweet features and gigabytes of space. And for me it's always been reliable. Until now. Right now it's near exams and I've been working on my website for my Computers final project. And so this morning I sent a .gif to my gmail to download at school to use on my website. But for some reason, just when I needed it the most, it craps out on me. I now hate gmail and will use photobucket for the rest of time (and filefront).

There are ways to do this, yes (for example JS Exploits), but a cookie is something completely different compared to a virus.
A cookie is a 4kbyte big textfile, which can't contain executable code (cookies are, by definition, not executed) and will be completely handled by the browser. Their savng rules are pretty strict.

some freaking stuff about gmail

Any E-Mail-Server tends to freak out if you try to send yourself an email.
Save them as a Draft instead, that works fine.

Though, I would recommend to calm down and not overburst because some service didn't worked in a way you want.
This is another thing that makes me sick. People always excepts software to work in any case, with any stupid/wrong/senseless input and in exactly the way they wish, and if it doesn't, it's immediately called crap.
Common, it can't be universal perfect. Gmail is a email system, not a fileserver!!!

In my opinion, people shouldn't have a reason to know about all this. If no jerkholes ever made the garbage, everyone would be happily naive.
