It can be. I flame-harvest because it's less effort. With scythe-harvesting, you have to hit each plant 3 times (if I remember correctly.) This uses up plenty of thirst, hunger, and tiredness. With flame-harvesting, you only have to light one plant (or maybe 3 or 4 around the edges so it goes faster), and then you go chase butterflies or gather berries or round up your kiwis or ANYTHING more useful than wasting energy.
You can flame-harvest trees too, but it takes longer. Plant them as tight as you can (away from the stuff you want to keep). Let them mature, then fire them. Piles and piles of logs that way, although it doesn't help your logging skill.
yes, it is 3 swings with a scytche, but with a planting skill of 400+ its fun to plant, now i have like 600 grain to plant
