Hi all. I am working for new CS2D mod called "Quake2D".
It supports Rocket Launchers, Grenade Launchers, Radioactive Launchers,etc. Many Weapons, deathmatch mode (all vs all), teamplay mode (red team vs blue team), more bot skills, sounds like "FirstBlood, Godlike, etc", new graphics, sounds of course, all weapons changed, another maps and many more.

Here click to section "files" and download "Q2D v.0.0.4.3 FULL".

and a suggestions, when you pick up a weapon there should be an info which weapon u picked up, cuz when you are new to the game you arent really sure which weapon do you carry at the moment, but it gets better after an few minutes.

and i think you will add some muzzle flash soon, cuz its miss at some weapons, maybe tahst regular in quake, but its wired. i will chekc this, bought today the id pack at steam

Yeah, it's only alpha test version, but playable, that's right. Thanks for the suggestion, i'll fix it in new version, but I removed the muzzleflash because I think it wasn't good. But, I can get it back, if it'll be better. Anyway thanks for all.

I find the idea funny, because I like Quake 3 very much. If only it would support Deathmatch (not Team-deathmatch)... that's the most typical mode in Quake, after all.
The maps that are already included are very crappy. Perhaps I will make some.
Oh, and please work on the weapon balancing - obviously you've just adopted the values from Q3A, but in 2D that's all a different thing: The power of the grenade launcher for example is very limited in 3D because it's so hard to aim with it. In Q2D, it's suddenly about equal to the rocket launcher o_O.
The same thing with the lightning gun - it is a nice weapon in Q3, too, but hard to handle if the opponent moves quickly. In Q2D, it's no problem to keep the beam onto the enemy all the time because the shooting direction is independent from the walking direction.
