Once you download it, get the standard version, because That has unlimited sprites, and etc that you can make!

Actually I don't recommend it to create big projects. It's just to learn basic mechanics about 'game | animation ...| creation.

Most "awesome games" have tons of coding behind them. To learn coding, just google for tutorials. If you want to learn coding rather easily, learn java. It's not suited best for games, but they kind of work

I can just agree with ohaz's post. Another alternative to java is c#. The popular game "terraria" for example is written in c#.
