whats up y'all? i'm new here. i've been enjoying my time playin cs 2d, but there's gotta be a bigger community involvement (feedback) to really get this thing rolling. i'm just going to mention a couple of things i've noticed in the game or liked to be changed:

- the maps should be properly converted into 2d without giving one team an advantage
- we could use some dedicated servers/more servers in general (spread the word about CS2D)
- promote fair play online, for example, sometimes the teams are ridiculously uneven
- zooming in with a gun actually lags me up
- i cant seem to take all 4 hostages at the same time
- do not add anything that is not incorporated in the original cs
- do add the shield, galil, famas, etc
- balance the weapons and promote use of flashbangs, HE, defuser, etc.
- bots should not be following waypoints when they see n enemy (instead try and engage the enemy in combat) unless they are objective oriented like terrorist tryin to plant the bomb
- bots should learn to work in pairs/together
- set up camping waypoints for key locations
- since it's hard to id(entify) opponents in cs2d, there should be an easier method to id an enemy
- terrorist should be seen holding 2 pistols if using dual pistols

these are just some things i wanna address and get you guys thinking. i hope the dedicated staff of unreal software takes note of this post too. you guys should add any things i've missed. i've only been playing this game for a couple days, but it's addicting. i just don't want it to die off, because changes aren't being made asap.

oh ya, i wanted to say that clans should take an active role in bug hunting, relaying some input to the unreal software staff. at the end of the day, you'll be glad you did when an official release is out! =D

But im saying only the menu...
Cs2D use the "old menu" of the cs...
With this new menu, is possible to view more informations about the weapons...and its picture!

PS: OMG, stranded 2 yet...

that's cs2d improved (mod) but no more supported..
now the team who made it are using this to cheat in cs2d (buying guns and lazer for free, weapondamage, etc...)

Somehow there should be another way to indicate what is the player, as the object on the transparent paper, not the paper itself.



Sniping in cs2d is nowhere near perfection. If you look at how it's done in cs2d+, thats much better.


In cs2d+ both usp and m4a1 got upgraded with a secondary function. Knife, glock, famas(not even in the game), and a bunch of other stuff should be updated too.


Somehow players should get a longer line of sight.

But you are right...
DC will know surprise us with the new cs2d...we only need to be pacient...

all i'm saying is the demand is cs2d more so than anything else. seeing as the game is in beta, it could use some more work. i'm sure he'll get around to it, but i'm sure y'all would agree that a new release would be awesome and if we provide him with some feedback to work with, it makes it even easier. personally, i would rather the game stick to its actual counterpart: counter-strike instead of adding misc. things that don't apply to the game. and why not just add the maps on rotation on CAL, OGL, and other leagues instead of those random maps in cs2d. that way, we have the most fair maps and can start a little league of our own. just some suggestions.

Well Otto you are heading in a good direction with these ideas of yours but if the demand is truley that high we'll end up with a 16$ dollar price tag on this bad boy and somehow waking up in the morning with a headache wishing we invested in Smuckers Peanut & Jelly back in 89'.. I have no clue where I'm going with this! But again good ideas.

I wanted to play the game with my friend with a few bots...but Net play dosnt allow it ><...so we had to kill each other mano-e-mano(which is very boaring after a few games <_<)

√ The zoom function on cs2d+, no good, I don't think that's a good way to awp. It actually makes it harder, even though you can see farther, what about when you need to shoot someone upclose? Hard to aim! I think the zoom function in the current cs2d is fine. You may lag because of your graphics card, then you should get a new one, because zoom doesn't seem like it require a lot, maybe 64mb?
I awp just fine, it takes some fine tuning and tactics to kill more than 1 person without dying. People know I can do this, especially Lee .

√ The implementation of bots in a Net Game is a good idea, but before you can consider that you should consider improving the bot AI, maybe there could be some randomizer formula that made them move in an unpredictable direction, but certain events, like deaths or bomb plants, the bot would move towards that. If the bot engine was improved, bots added to Net Game would be fine.

√ About an updated buy menu, it wouldn't matter much and statistics wouldn't matter much either. This game isn't about headshots, and the statistics that the new buy menu gives you suggests which gun to pick for aiming. That might be helpful in CS2D, but not much.

√ New guns wouldn't be a bad thing, except for CT not having SG550. I liked using a silenced M4A1 and USP in CS2D+. Don't add the shield, it's not applicable for this game. One thing that should be avoided is holding down strafe to aim better, this is a fast-paced action shooter game.

√ Auto team balance would be a nice addition. There are a lot of newcomers/"beginner" players in this game that always go to the winning team, and it gets boring sometimes. I've seen a 9 vs 1 game before, and that 1 person was I think 1 kill 25 deaths. There should also be a rule on choosing an ingame name for yourself. They shouldn't allow you to join a server with the name "Player" or "CS2D Brasil" because that gets annoying and people get confused on who to kick if they're hacking or something.

√ Moneybug(don't ask what it is) should be taken out of the game. Same with uprate 3-5, people do it on purpose to get an upperhand in fog games, even in no fog they still do it. It should be default that it's set at uprate 1, and if it lags a little you can switch to uprate 2, which should not be a big difference from uprate 1.

√ With the ruling out of uprate 3-5, there have to be better servers, one of the main reasons why people begin to lag is because either the server doesn't have a stable connection, or the person hosting the server has a low bandwidth thus limiting the amount of people he/she can have in the server. With DC fixing the "dedicated server" function in the next version, hopefully it will make lagless servers plausable.

√ Reminder: Guys, this is a lot of demand, but not a lot of workpower, it's only DC(right?) working on all of this, you can't expect him to release it late 2007 if you want THIS much. How about you people help him in coding? I don't know much about this, so it would be stupid asking me for help.

This is just a little overview on what I think about the game. I love this game, it's simple, yet satisfying, and I think I want to keep it that way. Making it too overcomplicated would turn off a lot of people, I mean, it's a 2D game for *** sakes! We're missing a whole nother dimension here!!! I don't think my ideas are complete and I'm probably missing a lot of concepts that I originally had on my mind. I hope you guys feel like how I feel about this game.

anyways, the bots should have more random movements like RO4R said, but also to make it more realistic, they should also be able to understand each of the commands, E.G. take the point, cover me, enemy spoted, get out, and that kinda things, this can be easily done with enumeration, and for more organized, 2 enumerated list (one for the type of command and the other for the command its self) and the bots can then respond acording to the enumerated number have fun coding

R04R, is absolutely right. Except the zoom thing. The Zoom and the Silencers are the only positive things in CS2D+....
