I have updated my drivers and thats all i got. I googled this already and someone said they resolved it by installing stranded I, but when i get stranded I its a .zip and theres no way to "install" it.
how do i resolve this?

which OS do you have?
maybe you could provide us some information about your graphics card and your computer in general?
also, have you downloaded Stranded 2 from this site or from somewhere else?
it might be that some other sites still have an old version of the game but DC compiled a new version of it in october last year (the version number didn't change!) with a newer version of Blitz3D (in which the game was programmed) so now it has a better support for directx under windows vista/7.
But ill provide the information you want, even though i seemed to have fixed that, at the risk of yet ANOTHER problem...
I am using Windows XP Professional-Service Pack
My graphics card is a mobile intel(r) 965 express chipset family
I am also using a Laptop
What i am getting now is that the menu loads, the game menu pops up, and maybe for about 3 seconds (enough to light that small island on fire with rightclick) it will freeze, music will play for about, 5 seconds after. Then the music will stop and about half a minute later, my graphics card will crash, giving me an error that looks like "the igxprd32 display driver has stopped working normally." Then the whole desktop will go into 16-bit, with a resolution of 640x480
this laptop of yours isn't one of those crappy eee PCs, or is it?
how much RAM does it have?
you might try to start the game with minimal settings, you can use the configchanger (made by
ohaz) for this:http://www.endless-aerospace.de/?p=software&id=configchanger
sorry for the german language but it shouldn't be that hard to pull all the levers to the left side
for the resolution enter 800*600 and for the colour depth below it enter 16.
if this works you can try to increase the levers step by step.
if it doesn't work I fear that you most likely have to get another PC to play it on...

myess.... something new.... And I thinked that my ancient laptop is a shit...... Are your's PC bellow the Minimal requirments???

Make sure your pc have the last version of directx instaled and remember: Stranded was made with directx7, so it isn't well supported by the new machines (just like in my one).
