Anybody seen this yet? Its by Gilligames and I'm not sure if they ripped off the name/art from Unreal or if there is a license agreement involved.

I was soooo excited when I found this. Its really fun and one of the few real survival games out there.

Check out these screenshots from it--definitely worth buying since it captures the feel of scrounging up things and building your way to a more livable situation.

nice
too bad that I don't have an iPhone to test it

no there is no license agreement involved.

however I already had some requests from different people asking if they are allowed to develop games like Stranded for mobiles / handhelds.
I always say yes in these cases because I don't develop games for these devices.

the links to the game don't seem to work btw. at least from my place
found this with google:

Thanks for the clarification. The links should work if you have iTunes installed. They take you right to the app store page for the games.

The game itself is great once you figure out how to manage certain things like where to stash your items, etc.

Some tips:
-You can drop things on the ground and they stay there. So make organized piles near your base camp--ie. I have one pile for just the radio components.

-You can combine items as long as you are standing in the same square as them, so you don't have to be holding them. Thus, to make twine just go pick six reeds and combine them--no need to actually pick them up. This really helps with larger projects.

-You don't NEED to sleep, just keep your health up with food and water.

-Once you have the basics taken care of, you should make sure you are regularly walking around the entire island looking for the radio components which are random drops. It takes a while which is unfortunate since now I'm just minding my time waiting for a couple components to spawn.

-Build two boar traps ASAP--this will take care of your food needs and provide you with much needed leather to make large pouches. Each pouch adds six more storage spaces for you.

Definitely worth the purchase if you have an iPhone.

Hello all. I'm the dev for Stranded! for the iPhone. I stumbled across this forum while looking for information about other games named Stranded since I was contacted today by a publisher that has a game named Stranded for mobile devices.

I didn't know anything about any of these other games when I titled my game, but I am happy to see the DC is cool with my game and its name.

Meanwhile, thanks for playing and talking about Stranded! here. If you have any more questions about it, please ask and I'll try to keep in touch. Also feel free to visit the Gilligames forums as well. It's totally empty at the moment since the game is so new.

UPDATE! December 18, 2009

My iPhone game has been officially renamed to "Stranded Without A Phone", due to a trademark issue with Glu games. That's the boring news. The good news is that the 1.2 update is finally out and brings several new features.

INJURIES
- Added "Injuries" meter. More injuries means your health lowers faster over time. Injuries must be healed by consuming certain items.
- Ways to be injured include random chances of jellyfish sting, using certain items to create items, boar bite.
- When injured 25% or less, injuries heal automatically over time.
BOAR HUNTING & TRAPPING
- Visibly live boars now roam the island. Touch a boar to target it for hunting with a bow and arrow.
- Bow skill increases with each attempt at shooting a boar.
- Boar trap no longer automatically catches a boar each day. A boar must wander (or be lured) near the trap to be caught. Listen for it.
SEARCHING
- Searching for items is now automatic, but you must choose which items to search for from the Search menu.
- Salt Water is now found by creating it from the Ocean item instead of searching.
BALANCE
- When picking a reed, you now get 3 reeds instead of 1.
- Hydration and Nutrition now lower at a slower rate.
- Hydration once again lowers while sleeping.
- Health now lowers faster when out of Nutrition and Hydration.
MISC
- Added new items and creation combinations (I'll let you discover them).
- Prevent duplicate items from being washed up on shore.
- When dragging a consumable item, the status box now glows to indicate where to drop the item to consume it.
- Less chance of accidentally walking when you're trying to drag an item and miss.
- Player info & game time is now saved at the start of each day instead of only when exiting the game.
- Tutorial information updated to include new features.
- Changed title screen to match official new title, Stranded Without A Phone.
BUG FIXES
- Fixed bug related to winning the game with the Space Phone in an opened pouch then immediately starting a new game.
- Hopefully prevented crash when opening container that contains more items than capacity. I still haven't figured out how containers end up that way.
- Improved memory management. Should prevent auto-quitting due to low memory availability.

Sounds good, but I can't test it because I don't have an iPhone, too.
But would it be cool if somebody makes a game like stranded for wii?
