other common reasons:
- spam / flame
- cheating / hacking
- uplading illegal contents / ignoring copyrights
i didnt like the username anymore.
Just look at the last posts of someone....
But that wont work at every one =(

I think that after you get banned, you can still visit UnrealSoftware, but you have red marking that you're banned, and you can't use any forum features. I'm not sure can you view the posts, but you're limited to just looking at the "BANNED" sign maybe
That's what i think about banned people.
And for violations, depends. There is no limit i think, but its how massive damage your posts have. Example can be that if you do a big flame, you get banned. But if you make small of topic few times, you won't. (again it depends on DC's choice)
@playa slaya: you can continue to see the website like a visitor who does not have an account. the difference is that login/register is not available and that you see a red warning message which says that you are banned.
violation amount for a ban depends as LinuxGuy said.
But earning the violations off would not be a very good idea because we wouldn't be able to know what who did.
Just see it like this: some (like 1-6) violations are not that bad if they are just small off topics or small spams (this should NOT tell you that spamming is allowed!). There is hardly anyone who hasn't even got one violation for spam or off-topic
