It is more gritty and dirty than cs2d, But what do you expect from a sweet, tight-azz game? huh? The extra features DO NOT AFFECT GAMEPLAY(!) as said befor! The addition features just have to do with music and colors, YOU DONT EVEN GET MUSIC BY DEFALT IN CS2D!
Al together It depends on your preference in games!

CS2D is way better than Soldier
That is an oppionon NOT FACT! there is no real way to tell!
I perfer none. I couldent pick between the two becuase they both great games that are generaly free.
Vibhor: it's ALWAYS a good idea to have a look at previous posts in a thread before posting. especially the first post by the creator of the thread could explain some things.
I've played Soldat and it is a complete shit! Sorry about the expression, it's the truth...
The good thing is that it haves AK-74, but still AK-107 better than all!
CS2D for ever!
Soldat ("for") never!
(Modified version of Mafia200100's text).
Looks like the Russians are copying the makers of M16.
AK-108 is a version of the AK-107 that uses an M16 round (5.56x45mm). The AK-107 uses a slighty smaller 5.45x39mm round. I don't know the statisitics but it looks like the Russians want that tumbling effect an M16 round has. It has less recoil too. EDIT: I forgot something. It was brought to my attention that the smaller size of rounds means a bigger capacity
As for realism I have to say that CS2D isn't fully realistic. I understand the need for weapons that are better than others, but saying a firearm that uses the same round as a M4A1 (5.56x45mm) is weaker than the M4A1 isn't exactly realistic. The factors determining the power of a cartridge is mostly in the cartridge itself. That's just one thing I've noticed.
I don't know anything about Soldat though. I tried it for a few minutes just now and I really can't say anything is great about it. It's sorta confusing. The menu IS ugly. There isn't very many weapons and not much variety.
Although the shotgun is more realistic. In CS2D the range of one is about a yard or so, judging from the size of the people. No one really gives a shotgun it's true qualities. Everyone has the idea that a shotgun is a shortrange extreme spreader device thing that LiKe23 pWnz0rs and stuff. No one gives it the range it truly has. Shotgun shells don't spread like lots of people make them either. In my short time in soldat though, I noticed the boomstick (SPAS-12) had a pretty close patterned group of far reaching shot which is pretty realistic in my opinion. One thing I found though that was extremely unrealistic was the overkill pull of gravity on the projectiles.
Shotguns IRL are incredibly versatile, and can assume pretty much any role. The only thing they can't do is assume the role of a small firearm or sniper rifle. Even then... I hear that a shotgun using a slug shell with a scope could be pretty accurate. They also can't penetrate very well... the soft lead used in the shells mashes out too much too fast to do what a steel bullet can, or even a plain 9mm can. I bet though... a steel core center in a slug would work for penetration like one of them steel core AK rounds. Ugh... I wrote a book

I totaly agree the grav pull is annoying and so unrealistic.

That is also true. The AK-47 is portrayed as being stronger than M4A1 when in fact it is weaker. The rounds are smaller and the clip should really be 35 rounds not 30.
This also reminds me. The FAMAS ,as I stated before, is stronger than the M4A1. The FAMAS uses a Bullpup design as apposed to the more compact M4A1 design. Although the Bullpup design is slightly compact in its self, it allows for quicker firing. And if im not mistaken it uses larger rounds. Or does it also use the same sized rounds as the M4A1?
don't forget that neither Soldat nor CS2D are simulations but shooters. They don't care much about realism. If a weapon needs to be weaker due to game balancing then it will be made weaker. even if that means that it will make the weapon totally unrealistic. who cares? fun matters in such a game. realism not.
therefore it doesn't make much sense to compare the real weapons with the in-game weapons or to talk about realism.

You'd have to be on Jupiter for it to pull as much as it does. I think

30 seems to be the standard issue. I wouldn't know though.

It uses the same ammo according to Wiki. Wiki states that F1 version has a firerate of 900-1000 rounds/min and the G1 1000-1100!
The M4A1 is 700-950 rounds/min.
The AK-47 is supposed to be 600...
The FN P-90 is supposed to be 900. I was expecting like 1500 from the way video games protrait it .
You know... the M249 uses a 5.56x45mm NATO round as well. Firerate = 750-1,000 rounds/min.

Actually 30 isent. Many of the guns on cs2d are incorrect. But who's gonna change it? Surly not DC.

Are u serious? I didn't know that! But how is that possible? The caliber is no different?
Well, who is noob enough to compare 3D Soldat (if existed) to CS 1.6?
And now the 2D versions... Soldat may have duck, jump and stuuf, but it's not organized and simple as CS2D. It doesn't have U.S.G.N., a really simple LUA engine, Construction, all weapons from CS 1.6 and more...
How people can say that Soldat is better? Excuse me, I respect opinions, but face the facts...

Which part? The M249? That's what Wiki said. They said the M249 was designed to be an "in-between" machinegun. It was designed to be in between M16s and M60s. They said it's taking on the same role the BAR had in WWII. The military needed a support machinegun and the M2 Browning and M60 were too large for one person carry. The M16 couldn't provide enough machine gun fire as it had a small clip and over heated too fast.

@X-RDG:
WDF YO? THERE ARE NO FACTS! You cannot factually PROVE that any game is better! There are ONLY OPINIONS! Its Subjective(!), its up to individual !! ONE PERSONS OPINION CANNOT MAKE IT BETTER!
Get it? Got it? GOOD!
@Zellon:
You answered my question thx! I didn't no that.

Actually, the more realistic the game is, the more fun it is.
You'll realize this, once you've grown up.
that's flame actually... I'm grown up and what you're saying here might be true for people who love realism and simulations but surely not for everyone.
for instance realism would also mean that you would have fatigue in the game. you wouldn't be able to walk that fast all the time and you would have to rest. manye people would HATE that!
moreover you would have jams and other malfunctions in the weapons. that's a thing which would upset many people as well.
it is simply not true that more realism = more fun. you will hopefully realize that when you think about it a bit more.

Wow those jams and stuff would be incredibly fun!
But like you said not everybody like those kinda things.
