In fact nobody need to be pinged for any shit reason. Moreover the topic is marked green anytime there is a new reply and since there is not that much new posts and comments per day u watch them without missing one.

I think the idea of following threads and posts is good for big forums.
A forum such as this one wouldn't benefit from such a feature as was explained above.
Unless it can be added easily, it won't be worth the effort.

This may change in the future when S3 goes public and attracts attention which could justify following entities on the forum.

As for now, it would be smarter to let DC's resources go into what brought us all here in the first place; indie game development.

Agreed. It's a nive to have - especially in combination with browser push notifications or email notifications - but not really a necessity. Therefore I'm currently not planning to implement this in close future.
