The VPS will work if you turn off your computer since the VPS isn't your computer. At least, I assume it isn't.

No, This won't work of course because you used ls /home which doesn't make you on /home/, You are just able to view them.

Reaper hat geschriebenIf you have a SSH login, you should be able to install a FTP service yourself, if it isn't already pre-installed. Be carefull don't allow root access to your FTP. It should be deactivated by default anyway.

You mainly roam around crashing them. I believe you would just somehow be so stupid to crash your own which is not really nice for the hoster.
