It's just a proposed law that will give even more power to record labels, editors and ISPs to fight piracy, basicly, by allowing them to sue almost everyone.
It also means soup in spanish

Yea SOPA is some weird act, made on 26th of October, massively voted AGAINST, then failed.

Many musicians are already calling for people to pirate their songs, so that labels would ease up on the contracts and the authors would get something for what they've done. Did you know musicians receive less than 20% from labels?

I dont know nothing about secrets organitations The gist of act, however, is that it should empower the Department of Justice with ability to have sites blocked by search engines, ISPs and advertisement networks that operate in USA. Or, in simpler words, would give DoJ the right to censor the internet as they see fit.
That much is disturbing, because anti-piracy laws so far had been targeted against the specifically people who perpetrate. SOPA suggests leaning on the service providers instead. I`d like to meet Lamar Smith. Preferably, somewhere without witnesses.
