1. You had hundreds of chances to fix it in the original engine yet you didn't

2. Top down version of a FPS is not natural nor realistic. That said it seemed that you finally found a way, accidentally, to make the game interesting and worthy (in terms of difficulty), and now you managed to somehow, "fix" the gameplay so it's more like how it should be were it in 3 Dimensions... Am I not making myself clear? Top down version of the game generically assumes the position that aiming would become detrimentally easier since there was less need to worry about the Z-Axis (Especially the recoil, which can not be compensated merely by the dispersion) and the fact that the movements are linear... Hey, it wasn't all linear in the old cs2d, but guess what, it is now, but that's beside the point, in this case, what actually matters is the movement should be flexible enough to compensate for such things.

3. Idiotic gameplay is subjective. You changed the gameplay without consulting with the gamers. Is this a community or just a one man's need to make a name for himself? I didn't hear people complaining about the ability to do butterfly dances. Heck, no one is anyone if their movement sucked, hell, I, and probably those people who are just natural born hypocrites, have been able to carry on a game with just 10 hp against 3 people and still win... I know Illectro have done it before, of course I know he doesn't account this to his movements, especially seeing as 1 shot from any gun would have killed him, he'll just say he's cheating. Is that true? That's the only thing that matters on whether you're a pro or not. The only way to escape this is if everyone are snipers, in that case, you're right, butterfly dances are ridulous, but in this version, where you have no chance of winning against even 2 players, and where either the ROF is too high or the damage is too much, there's no way you can escape even if you had 100 hp, do you call that skills? I call that idiotic gameplay, but hey, you don't care, you tell us to share our ideas and you blatantly ignore them, or flame them, because you don't want these in your games, no matter how much we argue, you won't hear a word. So I'm asking, why are you even telling us to share our views when you'll just blatantly suppress them. And by god I'll bet a hundred dollars that you'll either delete, or censor this post so as to keep your good image... Good to know that we still have the right to speak up.

And no, unlike some of the people here, I'm not afraid to stand up for what I believe is the right direction, especially since I have spent thousands of hours dedicated to this game, and if you ask anyone who is dedicated, you'll find that they too share this opinion. We didn't decide to stick to this game for funs and giggles, we were committed, and if our opinion doesn't matter, at all, then I really can't find the justification for the hundreds of dollars and thousands of hours we've spent on this game.

DC asks for our opinion because he will filter them (you may say censor if you like) and pick the best (in his opinion) out of them. He can do it, because cs2d is a game and not anything more important like a world-moving philosophy or so.
He's aiming at doing a good game and he wants our ideas to get new inspiration to do his hobby (which coding is for him still).

If he thinks that diagonal movement is crap, he might lose half of his gamers, but as well win the same number of new players. It is his decision because it is his game.

And please: Stop dealing with cs2d as if it was a matter about life and death. It's is a game and yes, you have absolutely no righ to tell DC what he has to do with his game that you don't even have to play.

Playing cs2d is a privilegue, not a claimable right! Treat it as such.

And by the way: You are beginning to piss me off with your propaganda shit that I-don't-know-who told you.

2. you don't accept it and continue to argue - which will lead to nothing.

btw: I don't like this whole pro stuff at all. I prefer to make the game compatible for everyone. you should not have to play 5 years before you are able to have a good score. It is and should be a casual game. not a game for hardcore pro gamers.

You make it sound like this is an idea for me only. Let me tell you something, the last time I've played, all vs online players, I'm getting a KPD of 698:6, which is well above 100. Why would I complain? Do I have no life rather then sit at my computer and argue with you all day? I have a life too, and I recognize that you want to get on with yours, but the truth is simple.

There are so many people who complains to me in game that they hate the current direction that CS2D is going. But you don't hear them complaining do you? You know why?

It's because you're not known to be a very receptive person. First take a look at the trash, can you tell me how many percent of the topics in there are actually flame, spam, offtopic, and whatever coming from this and the Max Suggestion topic? Now take a look at the Suggestion thread itself, what do you see? All I see is ideas that you approve of personally. None that you don't like. And most people grow tired of getting censored.

But I'm not afraid of getting you crossed. Just like Matt's not afraid of getting you crossed, just like how Circa isn't either. So we have to speak for those who are afraid to speak. Even Illectro was one of those "pseudo" pros you talked about, and if he was just all guns, he wouldn't have a chance at joining a single clan, or even claim that he was better then anyone.

Therefore here's my contention:

takes the premise that we argue without any evidence, without any reason. But here I'm telling you, in a comparison between FPS and Top-down TPS, Aiming is so much easier and uncompensatable that you have to find alternative ways of compensating for it. Currently it's just shoot and kill, it used to be move and shoot and kill, but amazingly, moving and shooting now actually gives you a disadvantage since Aiming takes the priority.

Can you at least state how this argument doesn't work out? You tell us to give you suggestions with meaningful empirical backends but you refuse to rebut according to your own rules.

@Dicker, have you ever even touched the game at all?

If the answer to this is no, then I would recommend that you add that old CS2D bug into CS2D Max. I mean, if you are not even going to play your own game, why do you even care if that bug is added into CS2D Max or not? Hell, You're not going to play, so why not let the other players get what they want?

If the answer to this is yes, then I don't blame you, you want what's best for the game in your opinion and you already have added a lot of things that people suggested although you also want something that you will enjoy and think will be good in the game when you start playing, or if you already are playing.

My whole point out of this post is, if you are not going to play the game, just add the damn bug, it's going to make CS2D have way better game play and more people will start playing CS2D Max that played 0.1.0.4 version and you would be able to take down the CS2D 0.1.0.4 server list, plus people will stop arguing about this stupid shit. But if you are going to play, do whatever the hell you want, it's your game ( but on the other hand a suggestion thread was created where people can suggest things to be added, and you don't even accept half of them, the only one's you do accept are the one's you think are good, not the ones other players think are good ). One more thing, I'm 100% sure this argument will not be over until this bug is re-added into CS2D Max.

nothing written after this opinion changes anything. I'm still sure that this is the best way for cs2d as I want it to be.
