Stranded II General Is there any way to "map out" an island? Is there any way to "map out" an island?
7 replies I played through all of the adventure mode- now I'm playing on a random island (large) and it's great- but hard to navigate! I find myself getting lost very easily and having to start over my basecamp (or reload a save) which makes it hard to find exotic/rare materials (gold and such). Is there any way to have a minimap, or some other navigational tool?
So far, I'm just making a path with unbuilt construction sites to go back to my camp (like breadcrumbs) but that's one dimensional. There is the Map item, but you can't have it open and walk at the same time... and it also completely ignores everything except for whether the terrain is high ground or water.
This does, however, bring to mind a concept of a map marker, like a writable sign someone mentioned in some other thread. can u show the thread? i also have this question ,but how do i make X's on the map? breonik, you can make cheats by opening the consol, write dm and then click on give item. then click once on the map item.
you can remeber points like when u builded your camp, check the map and remeber the place.then when u lost u can try to open the map and go to that point. I just use paper and pencil, landmarks (including some ones I create), and dead reckoning. I love being lost on the island. It's so wonderful and realistic situation wandering at the island looking for landmarks and stuff. i have an idea like building signs with a script that will mark that area on the map. That was my idea first, don't go stealing other people's ideas >8( It was my idea before either of yours, but i don't know how to implant it and that was before MKVCS
