Hi, i think cs2d is great but i can never seem to host games, i had a look around and the cs2d site said i need to port foward or something.

so i went to this site http://www.portforward.com/help/pfprogression.htm

but im not to sure if i should either fiddle with the port fowarding or my internal firewall. I was wondering if anyone could help me out with this step by step.

Here is a picture of my router.

Thanks in advance for the help.

EDIT: i dont know if this helps or anything but if it makes it easier i would just like to host one friend instead of it being listed in the thing where a bunch of servers are listed. Also i have my filter filtering 1 red bar.

Well cs2d has lots of problems for routers for hosting in servers. For me I play with a modem. If you want to try, make sure the port is at 36963. And if u want to play alone with 1 friend, you can always make the game with a password.

hey man, here's what you can do, first go to start>run>cmd

in the cmd prompt, type in IPconfig and you will receive a lan IP that looks something like 192.168.X.X, make sure you record that last number (say your lan IP is 192.168.1.3, make sure you remember the last number as a 3) now go to your router admin console, go to forwarding, type in your lan IP, make sure the last digit matches your lan IP since this is the most important part, and then put in the correct ports in there, I don't have your brand of router so I'm not completely sure, but since this is the inner working of almost all routers, I'm sure this'll help you

Ok i opened up command prompt and i did the ip config thing and it came up with 3 things

i think im suppose to use the default gateway because its the closest to your example, there is a thing that says IP address but it was 192.168.X.X0

Im not to sure how to access my router admin console but my brand of router is Netcomm NB1300. Thanks for helping me out so far, just need to know how to access the router admin console thing and anything else i need to know about the ports.

that's for the admin I think

Do not use the default gateway, that is the address of your router/modem, not the lan IP, for Lan IP, use the one that is titled the IP Address. The last number can have as many digit as it wants to but It has to follow the 192.168. rule, so you only have to make sure the first 2 numbers matches, asides from that I think you're good to go
