I'm not exactly talking about graphics... Graphics are nice and all, but what really matters is the game. In the older days, games had much better game play and acceptable graphics. For example Dungeon Keeper was a crazy fun game, but it lacked graphics, WHO CARES!?
you, for example? I completely agree with you that fun doesn't depends on pure gfx, but you didn't say that in your first post. You just suggested to remake stranded on a high end engine (even one that currently is the real end of the ladder )
So, everyone thinks you're one of this kiddies that equals fun with graphics. Quad Erat Demonstrandum
Nothing against you, it just seemed that way

My point on the use of Crysis engine would be making the Island itself... The editor tools are, like I said, are simplistic if they need to be. Making a simple island to run around on, making shelters and hunting animals would be awesome in the type of foliage the game has!
Yeah, that's a nice idea, but why the heck the most bloated engines of all ?
That would be like disassembling a Mini Cooper and reassemble it arround a V8-BigBlock. It sure would be a heck of fun, but you will ride against the next wall, at least if you can avoid all Mini-Cooper-Fans (they would chop you into little pieces )

The polygons for the creatures doesnt have to be astronomical, but it could have afew more points and better textures which would immerse you more into the gaming environment. Stranded is already an awesome game with a great new way of fun, but with these great island making tools, the world the Survivor is put in can be much more rich and immersive.
I'm not sure, but Stranded II was always intended to be a comic style game.

And to Bizzl, lol my bad, it was 3am and I was falling over in my chair. I just wanted people to know what I meant when I said SDK, so really it would be like CryEngineDK or something.
That's even more stupid
Thus who don't know what a SDK is should shout their mouth and be quiet, because they don't know anything about the topic

But yea, my point is graphics arent always the most important thing, but the way the game immerses you into the world is. Having trees and bushes all around you, the foliage moving as you do, stalking and watching your pray behind a tree, instead of you stand on a rock and have a raptor run around it in circles while you shoot it with a bow... Im sorry if I'm rambling or repeating the same thing but it was all just a random unorganized thought I had. Im not trying to bash Stranded in any way, considering I love it and think its a great idea, Im just saying it would be much more immersive and fun if it had the kind of islands Crysis had.
okay, I admit it would be cool to have a real survival simulation, but only under three conditions:
1. VR Equipement
2. Multiplayer, if not MMORPG
3. OpenGL
Okay, maybe Crysis can do the first two, but the last probably not.
*sigh* I'm talking to much, it doesn't matter anyway. you of course can always try such a mod. We will even applaude you if you do a great job.
However, only few here can really help you, because most have either no time, or no software, or no hardware, or no skill to help you, sry
