Are you planning to make a random map script or will you rely on your own maps?
And about the tribes system... better make the join script per ID. I think that on the Internet, the average tribe name would look roughly like "-={::§ w33rw0lpH-KlÄn!11 §::}=-".
And "/join 1" is easier to type than "/join -={::§ w33rw0lpH-KlÄn!11 §::}=-"

But what do I care... I neither have H² nor a video card that is fast enough for it

ID would be possible, as all tribes have a "number" in the database that defines their position, ie; first tribe, second, third, ect.

The problem is the script assigns the number based on the variable of how many tribes already exists. So you'd have to know EXACTLY how many tribes had been there before, exactly when the tribe was made, ect, and do the calculations to figure out what tribe it is.

Furthermore, if you call your tribe the (insertwhateveryousaidhere) tribe, then I don't think anyone will want to join it in the first place. So far we've had pretty "normal" tribes.

About the random maps. It has been tested far more than I would have thought possible and determined that the Source engine cannot support DETAILED and RANDOM maps in one go. However, GMS does come in with a built in random tree\rock generator that'll populate any map randomly with trees and rocks.

What I've been doing is making edits to the default generator and adding more functionality, so it's not just trees you can chop down and rocks you can mine, but also orange bushes, banana palms, ect. It'll generate maps with a lot of different resources.

Have some questionares here.

1. What is half life in a short description

2. Mutiplayer- when somebody sleeps and somebody else is awake what happens.

3.If you have no pre-made buildings, there probobly can't be any commands for things like storage, in and out of huts/treehouses(as seen in stranded II(lol))

4. Are you going to finish this one builder?

5. If someone dies in mutiplayer mode, what happems?

Looks awesome. The cliffs, the water, the beaches... the textures are magnific. Of course, what strikes one's eye is the unsmooth rise towards the inner greenland.
About the palms: Try to keep the realistic style now that you come to the vegetation.
As somebody once said in the German forum, the palm trees in Stranded II do not look very realistic - some photopraphs from Wikimedia Commons:

Coconut palm
Some other type from Egypt
A thick-stemmed one
A stout one
Another very stout one

@ Bloodshot:
1. Half-Life is a series of first-person shooters that were worldwide successes. They are popular as bases for mods. For example, the mod "Counter-Strike" for part 1 was more successful than the original game.
Half-Life 1 used an improved version of the Quake 2 engine (by ID Software), Half-Life 2 has got its own engine, the "Source Engine".
For further information, e.g. about the plot which I found not worth mentioning here, see Wikipedia about:

Ignore the guest account. This project has been discontinued for a long time. So anyone feel free to lock the thread.

In fact, I'm really quite confused as to why all of you still keep posting when I haven't posted anything in weeks. Months. I dunno. The point is: You can stop posting. The closest thing to multiplayer Stranded is "GMS Stranded". I recommend you check that out.

Why are you stopping? Were there problems? I think we all really wanted to see this happen and thats why everyone kept posting.

I stopped because I was bored with modding GMS to make a good port of Stranded into a multiplayer gamemode, and I realized rather quickly that although it SOUNDS LIKE A GOOD IDEA, multiplayer Stranded is a *bad* idea. It just does not work.

To me, multiplayer Stranded is perfectly fine for me.
I've been to several servers, especially the Stargate Stranded server, and they were all great in terms of gameplay. It works fairly well in terms of cooperation.

Anyways, it's sad to hear that you are abandoning this project.
If you haven't already, you should definitely check out the Stargate Stranded server.
