When I test a map using the editor, those debug texts show up. And the problem is that when I close the test (using F12), those texts will be still there, along with the other debug/test stuff, all the time.

its not a bug that it activates the debug mode when pressing f12 for testing because the debug mode is important for script testing etc.
however I'll change that the debug mode stays active in the editor after pressing f12 again.
