Stranded II General "I'm stuck / how to do XY" threadThey was used to make the game more reall as reward or something.
You can also use it in scripts as money
you mean the grasshoppers?
no, they dont die on their own, you have to kill them.
when they all are dead you can plant some new crop.
I think the limit of how many you can plant before the grasshoppers appear is just under 30 plants.
if you have lost all of your grains you should go and have a look at the entire island to see if there isnt any crop left so you can restart with a few grains.
because of the danger that grasshoppers appear you also should always keep some grain in your inventory, do not plant them all.
There's a spot that'll regrow a wild grain or two every few days on the fourth island, at least in the version I'm playing. Didn't know that, but the grasshoppers did apparently.
Anyway, that problem's solved and waiting for certain events to take place now. Trying to keep myself busy by building, so I've placed a hammock in my hut. What exactly does a hammock do, other than look nifty in there?
I think there is a script for the hammock in BigSid's Stranded 2.5 Mod which I wrote for him quiete some time ago so you can swing in the hammock.
the script is nothing very special but at least you can do something with the hammock with it.
Anyway, the best way of bringing along my skills that I could think of is a little script that runs only once when generating the map. Could someone have a look and see if there's something I'm doing wrong, and where would be a good place to shove this? Game.ini?
also you should write quotation marks areound the name of the variable at the temp command and, of course, a semicolon at the end, too.
in s2s (Stranded 2 scripting language) you have to write a semicolon at the end of every command line!
further it rather isnt the game.ini file but the game.inf file.
but writing the script into the game.inf file would affect that you would keep your skills on every new map you start.
if you really only want to keep your skills on random islands you would have to write the script into the files for the random islands:
random_01_endless_e.inf (easy)
random_02_endless_n.inf (normal)
random_03_endless_h.inf (hard)
I was aware that putting it into game.inF (Why does Windows XP do such a good job of hiding file extensions?) would affect every new island, but I was planning on removing or commenting out after I'd gotten my new home all ready to go. After all, I'd have to edit it again if I graduated from an easy island to a normal or something like that.
And yes, I'm aware that by tweaking numbers in game.inf I can do more grain per plague, more time underwater before breathing, setting hunger damage to zero, and many other blatant cheats. I'd rather not, for now at least

Hi I'm pretty good at the game but no matter how much I try I cant plant anything!!! when I click on the ground with my grains in hand (and yes, on ground thats close to me) it says I'm doing it wrong! what am I doing wrong???
You don't click, you press [E]. As in "use" the seed on the ground, not whack the ground while you have a seed in your fist.
Oh and...

You can change that setting, but the method differs depending on what operating system you're using.
For Win XP (Home or Pro)
In any folder, click on Tools >> Folder Options...
When folder options open, select the "View" tab.
In the "Advanced settings..." list box (at the bottom with all the check boxes in it) just below the hidden files settings is a checkbox labelled "Hide extensions for known file types". Uncheck this setting, then click OK.

yeah, that's also a possibility

here is the same thing Psytechnic already explained but it has some pictures to show you what you have to do.
one thing I might have not seen yesterday:
I'm not sure whether you dont have to write the if command with an "i" instead of an "I" or whether this will also work. but usually commands in s2s are written uncapitalized...
Now to try to generate an island and NOT spawn with three or four lions staring me in the face
On another note, is there a way to get a map on a random island? What I saw before becoming lion food was a bunch of similar looking terrain and the occasional tree. I get lost easy unless there some kind of landmarks around.
the only way to get one is to find it somewhere, either when it's lying around somewhere or you get it from a character or something like that.
or you could use the cheat menu and get a map from there.
and i have question :
Are there any commands that would be helpfull in "Adventure" Mode ?
EDIT : How to get Iron ? If you say me make pickaxe then i cant... because to make pickaxe you need ironbar --"

you can collect iron from small rocks which have veins/pieces of iron on their surface. you can hit those with just your bare hands but it's better to make a pickaxe as soon as possible because you can gather more iron with a pickaxe.

Im still in adventure number 1 and i cant find "A Dry Place" Please help me !
You must build a shelter/tent:
Make a Hammer (Stone + Branch)
Take the hammer in-hand, then press right mouse button
Shelter: 30 leaves + 20 branches
Tent: Combine 10 hides + 10 branches
Anyway anybody know how to do models ?
Is there specific program or you gotta do it in-game oO ?
the program used for the original models is milkshape3D (which costs money). you can use all 3d modeling software which can export your work as b3d or 3ds
