Hey guys I need some way to rip sounds off of Americas Army for the next superpack. Or if anyone has the sound effects, please send them to me. I need the M16 sfx, frag nade sfx, bullet ricochet, M203 explode, Vintorez, and the M249 sound. Anyone who has ever played or even seen Americas Army can pretty much agree the M249 sfx are beast. I already tried to get them with every way possible but I have failed. If anyone can get me these sounds it would be appreciated. I'd be happy with just the M249 if the other sounds cant be gotten.

You had to open the AAEditor.
When you've started the editor there appears a window. At the Top of that window are Textures,Actor Classes,...
Select Sounds and open the file "S_AA2_WeaponsUS.uax".
In the list you need the Indoorfire- and Outdoorfiretypes if you want to have the fire sounds.

Sry for my bad english...

its ok. Srry but i already tried that . You can hear the sound, but you cant download them in a .wav. I need some sound recorder thing that records straight from the sound card. Then Ill be fine.

Klick the Windows sound icon in the right bottom corner of your screen.
In the openjing window (Volume control) you click on "Options" or something like that in the menu and choose "Properties".

Then you click the radio button "Recording" and you have to tick the field "Stereo Mix" or something that sounds similar

You close the field with "OK" and then you choose the thing as recorded device. (The fields below the controllers)

Now you can record the sound with a sound recorder of your own choose.

In Audacity, on the toolbar, next to the Volume trackbar for the mic there is a combobox where you can select the input methode. Ther should be something like Line-Out, Stereo-Mix, Vol or "What you hear"
If there is nothing (means Mic only), you have to enable those Channels in your Windows Sound Settings.

I have a strong suspicion that the Vista sound panel is different from the old one but I did find this one thing. Theres an "Aux" controller, but I enabled it and it still doesnt work. I think the aux is the speakers but im not sure. Help!
Maybe Fraps works in the AAEditor...

Aux is some other channel then "Stereo Mix". I am not sure what it was for, but it's pretty old. Aux means usually something external (at least in flying).
Try to find another channel.

Success!!! I realized that theres prob. another controller thing for the sound, so I checked the sound panel inside the control panel, not the sound panel in the corner, and amazingly, theres the Stereo Mixer thing right there! Now it works and I can finally get the awesomeapplez M249 sound! Thanks Dicker, Bizzl, and everyone else who helped out! Now the super sfx pack of superness will be complete!!
