Turn off shadows, close background apps, play on a lower resolutions, avoid intensive servers, play Minigolf Madness, use a better system, ensure your PC is clean and well taken care of (both in hardware and software.)

Whats ur PC specs?

Is it really lag or low frame rate?

Well I went through that too, you can try lowering the game graphics to the minimum, run the game in administrator, close background applications and you can run the game in other compatibility, in my case I run as windows XP in the properties menu with left click, lower the resolution and activate the data execution prevention I do not recommend it, well that's all I hope it helps you
