Hello us

Sorry another problem (since cs2d is on Steam) I'm trying to learn how to use/play cs2d back lol,

So, the question is "Did dedicated server works for Steam cs2d"

If yes please tell me how,
I've tried different things for try to open my server,
First I've download dedicated from "cs2d.com" and then moved dedicated from winrar to "C:>program files>steam>steamapps>CS2D" and then tried to open my server from there, It works! But the server doesn't appear on serverlist or "LAN" for me, and when I press "X" for close dedicated and try again it shows me a message

Spoiler >

And then when i press "OK" it close everything

2nd method, I tried to Open my server simply by joining "New Game" but nobody joins maybe nobody wants to or nobody sees my server this is weird

Thank you for your helps,
-playø

It works and it's the same as without Steam. No differences.
I recommend to download and extract the game files (zip version of CS2D) and the dedicated server program into a separate folder, not the Steam folder.

(Steam folder might be fine as well but I'm not sure how Steam behaves if you add random files)

If you can't see/join your server please see
thread cs2d Port Forward primer! & thread cs2d Server Setup: Guide / Checklist
and http://www.cs2d.com/faq.php?show=net_noentry#net_noentry

Background: CS2D's Steam integration is entirely client sided. Therefore CS2D servers do not need access to Steam in any way and you can put them wherever you want.

@user DC: Okay and I don't understand what you've said about put the dedicated etc in another separated file can you explain me a little bit please on how to do that? If you're talking about creating a shortcut inon folder I've already did and tried it

I'm just telling you to unpack the stuff and run it. You don't need to do anything related to Steam and you don't need to do weird shortcuts or anything.

• 1. Download the client as zip http://www.unrealsoftware.de/get.php?get=cs2d_1007_win.zip
• 2. Download the dedicated server for the operating system you want to use
• 3. create a new empty folder wherever you like (but NOT in the CS2D Steam folder)
• 3. extract/unpack both zip into that folder
• 4. just run the dedicated

Please read the FAQ/forum links I provided. It's the most common problem when hosting servers and covered in great detail by the FAQ and in some threads already.

Regarding the memory access violation when closing the server: I have no explanation why this happens. It shouldn't. It's a very generic error though which can be caused by everything so I can't say why it happens on your system. But if the server is running normally before (writes console output etc) it shouldn't prevent you from hosting.

Yeah I've read all F.A.Q About servers and I tried all things you said but nothings works,

I can see my server and my IP in serverlist below:

http://www.cs2d.com/servers.php

But can't see my server In-Game serverList I already had that problem before but don't remember how I did for resolve it,
I've allowed everyting about "cs2d" and "steam" on my FireWall,

this is really weird cause

someone just joined my server but I can't join to my own dedicated server

Here are screen bellow :

This is a very typical issue with some routers. It's covered in the FAQ so you should have seen it
Quote
ATTENTION: Testing from within the same network might fail!
It is possible that people from within the same network/internet connection (e.g. 2 PCs connected to the same router, one hosting, other one viewing the serverlist) can't see each other. This does NOT mean, that nobody sees your server! It can be caused by wrong router settings and many other things. It might work perfectly well for everyone outside your network! Please ask someone who is not using the same internect connection to check if he sees your server!

Connect to ip might work like user Talented Doge said. I'm not sure if localhost works but you can also try 127.0.0.1. In general if you want to play on your own local server it's easier to use a non-dedicated server (of course this doesn't make sense if you want to keep it running even if you're not playing).
