EDIT: Yes, I downloaded some other players skins and it worked.
Should be the same with weapons, right?
The problem is in the file, I'm 100% sure.

Okay dude.
I'm getting the whole knife image, along with the colour I entered(magneta,white,black).
Help me only with this, and I'm done probably.
Now delete any other knife images (for example knife.bmp)

Place the image I sent you inside the weapons folder and rename it to knife
