I downloaded unreal engine 4 because its 100% free, but i noticed its really hard. I watched a lot tutorials to learn it but its a bit hard. At first i want to ask which one is easier? And secondly, is someone willing to help me to get started?

Thank you.

Comparing free versions; Unreal. But if you're willing to pay go get Unity.

Unity doesn't look like a mess, and it's easier to handle.

If you want to get a prototype of a game done, take Unity. You'll get to a playable test version faster. If you want to develop a real game, use Unreal Engine. It's far superior (especially compared to the free edition of unity)

Simply put - it will be hard no matter what you choose. Gamedev ain't a piece of cake. I'd say Unity tho, because it'll be more beginner friendly because of all the support you can get on forums from the community, and the amount of resources you can use, both tutorials and books.

I think ill start with unity, because i can barely understand something in eu4. Its so messed up, like it was made for professionals. But ill watch.

I'd suggest to start with a even more simple software than unity when you never created a game before. Why? Just to get a sense for it. It will be much easier to handle other softwares if you do so. It's always the same doesnt matter what you're planning to do. If you would buy photoshop for example and got no clue about virtual art and design then it's simply wasted money even if ps brings the most userfriendly interface compared to it's features. Same goes to game development, if you will use any average to advanced softwares in the beginning i bet that you will never finish your project or it will atleast be unplayable.

^ This.
Also don't ever expect your first game to be something absolutely brilliant. Try to make something in a small scope like "Shoot the beaver" or something just for training purposes, and always train to get better.

Yeeeeaaaa... Actually no.
Many coding languages are vastly different to another like Blitzbasic isn't C++, GML, or Java.
You'll probably learn the basics of programming from any of these languages but you'll never use C++ for 2 years and then can expect to just code java instantly even though you've never looked at it.

@user Black Wolf: Do you even have basics of programming covered? If not, don't even bother trying to create a game. If you do, it depends on many things you're looking for. For example, if you've learned lua, LOVE is a game engine that uses that language. I've tried it out and it's definitely not bad. BlitzMax is also similar to lua so you could try using it.

Everyone should have worked with this at least once. (Its an online-IDE; no download needed)
Pretty funny. Instead of coding you use kind of LEGO blocks connecting each and give you pretty good results.
Its just for android though.
