for a while now ive tried to get used to LC within cs2d and i dont like it 1 bit.

i really dont get why this was changed in the first place dont fix wasnt isnt broken and obv youll have a harder time with a higher ping vs lower ping players but it isnt impossible

which now kinda is since you cant dodge sh*t no more

no offense to you DC i know people have bugged and yelled and screamed at you for this and i wonder why...
since all of those players that begged and screamed they somehow quit the cs2d scene almost right after you implemented it (biggest name since it annoys the crap out of me and i blame him for it Flood)

my main 3 reasons why it is annoying me

Non-realistic gameplay
Wallbang effect
Inability to dodge

i used to be able to compete with americans on their servers with 120-150ping forget about it these days

i used to be able to stand correctly behind a wall forget about it these days since even if your standing correctly LC makes it look that way you stand perfect behind a wall but when killed i was standing still, suddenly everything you drop (guns rifles nades etc) goes on a diffrent square then where you have been killed with 20ping latency...

ive experienced this game since around 2004-2005 my best time i can remember was with cs2d maxx when i believe you just introduced construction mod ever since then the game has gone downwards and the activity went the same way

this is just my opnion i could get addicted to this game but not anymore since all the non realistic stuff happening within the game

my goal with this i hope to get some support on this and hopefully get rid of LC and see cs2d bloom once again like it has done before

Lag compensation is actually an important feature which allows people with bad pings to have a fair chance to win. That's why it makes perfect sense to have it in the game.

Use cs2d cmd mp_lagcompensation 0 to disable lag compensation or tell the admin of your favorite server to use this setting. You can also use other values to fine tune and restrict the compensation to a fair value if you think that the default setting is bad. Problem solved.

Natively users are not wallbanged as frequently anymore.

Even before lc, its common that people die in different tiles so you're really just having the placebo effect and blaming everything on lc

Nope jurgen is right. Its pretty unrealistic when the lagger shots beside you while you're moving and you still receive damage. People with high ping got a big advantage due to that. Example given is fighting deagle vs deagle.

European players dont know how having a high ping can affect your gameplay, the highest ping they can have is 80, the lowest ping i can have is 130. I remember there was this one time i had a 115 ping on a server, that day i discovered i was pro.
Forget about me, what about poor brazilians? i know there are br servers but lets be honest they're really shitty and no one would like to play there, i guess lc makes it a bit fair to them.

DC is right. LC is optional, don't complain here about an optional setting when you can simply turn it off.
Either host a server without LC or contact server hosters. But there must be a reason most people use LC on their servers now right? Probably not because they are attempting to kill CS2D rofl

Not sure if I got you right but I just told you how to do exactly that. cs2d cmd mp_lagcompensation 0 will completely disable everything related to lag compensation (as if it never were implemented). Of course this is a server setting. It doesn't help to change this while being a client.

Who cares about your southamericans, africans and asians? If you have a bad ping then deal with it. Don't like to play on servers with 250 ping? Don't join then. Lag compensation is the worst thing that could happen to CS2D.

In first person games rewinding time doesn't seem to be that big of an issue because you can't tell for sure that you're behind cover. If it's top down, and you are running away, but die on the second tile after the wall, it's clear.

Most new games are released with some sort of ping compensation. As for my own opinion, I like to lead calculate, where the server does nothing or just render the client as if they were doing the same action for an extended period of time (I believe cs2d does this).

Does it kill CS2D? No. It's a pretty casual game, it doesn't need to be that accurate, nor realistic. If you want competitiveness, find a server without LC.

It also doesn't change your inability to dodge, LC doesn't change the size of the hitbox, it changes where the hitbox is over time. So, if your enemy is good at aiming, they should still be able to kill you without LC (but on a better pinged server).
