Let's take a look at Africa. More people die there than they do anywhere else in the world, and much often in worse ways. No matter if it's an incurable painfull illness, a war, starving to death, slavery, or something else. Do you care about these people right now? No you don't. You don't really care about anyone else in the whole damn world. Apparently you only do that when it's somewhere written in all caps. And guess what? That's how pretty much everyone like you thinks. At least 10 people died right now while I made this comment. And not a single fuck was given by anyone except the people who knew them.

The US is more or less nearer to me, figuratively speaking, than Africa. It's part of the civilized world, my country has more or less close relations with it, the people I know live there and a part of a family that's really close to us, friends for over 20 years, lives in Boston.
