And btw my budget is actually around $500 and the cheapest gaming PC sold in NZ is around $800 (No i am not bullshitting), I wouldnt bother buying gaming PC's online because I dont trust internet and their online shops or whatever but thats just me. So might as well leave out Gaming PC because I already have one even though its kinda old but that works for me anyway. (Sorry I didnt mention this earlier)
then save money and wait until next generation og consoles

Ten year wait for a piece of crap that couldn't even match with today's average gaming rigs is not worth it what so ever.
If however it were to be a toss up between the Crapbox three-shitty and the Pissy Suck 3 then it'd be the PS3 because at least the multiplayer is free and you don't end up paying for what would be another ISP just to play multiplayer games as you have to do with the Xbox LIVE service.
Try not to buy a console and build a PC. If you can't/don't have enough money then PS3 is the way to go.
I played on xbox360 and PS3 and in my opinion, the PS3 is a few way better than xbox360.

I had to make the same decision like you a few months ago. I decided for a PS3. Bought it for 56000 тенге (285€ / 367 US$) when I was in Kazakhstan this summer.

Ya, I have an xbox, because that's what my friends have and when I bought it just thought the xbox was cooler. Anways last year, I switched to a gaming pc and I LOVE it. Way better than xbox and ps3 combined!
But.. while you buy a PS3 CD with ( 10000DA "on my country" )
You could play at the Xbox LIVE with that money aswell.

I own an XBOX 360 , its nice but multiplayer isn't free, so i'm thinking of buying a PS3 later
1 Year xbl = ~35$ (ebay) (5 years = ~175$)
Playstation 3 = ~300$ - 400$
Totally worth. And don't forget: If you want to use all features of sonys online support (more cloud space, more offers,...) you have to buy Playstation Plus. So it isn't really free...

PS3 is better than Xbox. ( At lot of things )

@ Shawni: I'd like to hear those too.
If you say the PS3 has better graphics - I will kill you.

People like me don't need that so the ps3 is better in this case.
Everything depends on what you exactly want to do with it.
At first, Am not saying that the Xbox is bad gaming device, But PS3 Is better and here are the reasons :
1) The Xbox freeze alot and it has a nickname called "The Red Ring of death" Like that :
It mean a system hardware failure, it is common and a well known thing that happens once in a while, you can fix it, But its complicated.
2) The PS3 has free internet browser, the Xbox doesn't
3) The power cord of the Xbox is Huge.., some people call it a brick but the PS3 Cord is much thinner here's a picture of it :
And here is the Xbox One :
4) The Xbox can be loud at times but the PS3 Is very quiet
5) The PS3 comes with a built-in Blu-ray player but with the Xbox, You have to buy HD-DVD drive and plug that into the Xbox to watch movie, which is worth about 200$, and Blu-Ray is better quality than HD-DVD
6) The PS3 has a built in Wi-Fi adapter but the Xbox doesn't, You have to buy the adapter which is worth 100$.
7) The Xbox scratches discs when you move the Xbox around sideways while the disc is inside playing in the Xbox
8 ) The PS3 Has a 2% rate of failure but the xbox has 39%
9) The PS3 has a neat feature called "Remote play" where you can connect your PSP to your PS3 and play PS3 On the PSP
10) For Xbox LIVE you have to pay 60$ for 1year to play online but you can get PSN(Playstation Network) for free
11) You can also watch youtube video on your PS3
12) Blu-Ray or Games discs are much harder to get damaged or scratched because they have an extra protective layer to prevent this form happenning
More ?

Agree, I have an xbox and I'm not very happy with it just because I can't play online with friends.

1) Never happened to me. Also, the PS3 has the Yellow Light of Death.
2) Implying I need a web browser on my console?
3) Is a big power cord really an issue? I mean what?
4) It can be loud but I never notice it when playing.
5) Blu-Ray discs are expensive, so no need for a built-in Blu-Ray player. Also, it was proven that the PS3 Blu-Ray player actually sucks compared to stand-alone Blu-Ray boxes. So I'd rather buy an Xbox and a Blu-Ray player, than buy the PS3.
6) Wi-Fi gaming is a really bad idea, most people who play the PS3 still use cables.
7) Try doing that with your DVD player or your PS3. The disc always gets scratched.
8 ) Can I please see the sources?
9) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Remote_Play
Not all games can be played using this feature. Actually, only a little amount.
10) Yeah, free with hackers and $60 per year without them. If you can't afford to pay $60 per year, I've got news for you - get a fucking job!
11) I have a computer for that. Actually 2, and a smartphone and an iPad. Also, there is a YouTube app for the Xbox. So I can watch YouTube on my Xbox as well. Now look at that!
12) Tried searching about that protection, didn't find anything. Give me a link. EDIT: Nevermind, found it. It still doesn't prevent them from being scratched, just protects the discs better.
2) xbox has a browser too.
3) omg! You're right. Now I don't have space for my TV and the graphics sucks now...... Damn power cord..
4) outdated. The slim-version is very quite.
5) Isn't it a gaming console? I have a blue-ray player btw.
6) outdated. slim has one.
7) RTFM. Same happened on Playstation 3.
8 ) Source?
9) I tried it with my playstion vita. It's laggy and the colors are awful. And you can't use it as a second controller.... very useless.
10) ebay: ~35$ per year.
xbl: 512MB cloud storage + all offers
ps3: 256 MB cloud storage + some offers
plus users: 1024 MB + all offers
11) oudated...... You can also watching youtube videos on xbox (download app) Oo
12) "Blu-Ray or Games discs" -> Oh I forgot... The Xbox requires stones to play. Not Game discs.
"More ?" -> Yes.
Klin
EDIT: btw: everyone should buy a console which your friends have too. Otherwise you can play alone with your "awesome" console.
