I do not use photoshop, but I am gonna assume that they update/improve it with each edition

I think they are all bad in some way, but CS2 is the most praised one.

Try portable version. It needs less space and still provides everything you need. You can also save your templates and start it from any other PC.

The "best" Photoshop is always the latest.

Also: I doubt that the Photoshop version you downloaded is legal...
