1,860 replies Ever so often when I drop my weapon the ammo in the weapon is higher than the ammo in the weapon when I had it in my hand.
I was thinking about the reason why this might happen and I think this is because not every shot I fire gets fired on the server side. I usually have a low ping of 20 and maybe the server thinks I my attacks are to fast and doesnt count my attack.
If thats the case this would mean that players with low ping have a disadvantage to others.
You should definetly look as to how this occurs.
EDIT: just realized its hard to reproduce this. But I am 100% this happens to me sometimes

I know that UDP isnt 100% reliable. However as I said I usually have a good connection. In one case my M4A1 was completly empty and when I dropped it it had 7 bullets left. Thats why im suggesting to check if the server doesnt block quickly following attacks to early.

T-69: Did you maybe install CS2D to a location where you do not have write permissions? e.g. "C:/program files/" or something like that?
I recommend trying to install it to a "neutral" location like "C:/cs2d" and/or to run it with admin permissions.

Sorry for the LATE reply, but yes, I installed it to C:/beans and ran it with admin permissions. However, when I am ingame, I can change options. Just can't change resolution, spraypaint, and other settings ingame.

T-69: Oh. Very few options like the spay logo (the image, not the color!) are locked and can't be changed when you're connected to a server. You have to disconnect first in order to change them. That's by design and not a bug.

Sometimes a player will appear as a spectator and they will be invisible even though they are not supposed to be.
I have to rejoin the server to make the person appear again.
I do not know why the bug happens but it would be a good idea for you to fix it.

T-69: Resolution change was intentionally allowed only for the main menu (forbidden in-game though)

Loooser: New speedhack detection works a little bit different that you would expect, it was enhanced in last patch, it might be that some servers still does not use patched version.

Gaios: UDP is not causing the problem here. It's server side checking so hackers couldn't shoot more frequently than it's already possible or that connection issues wouldn't cause shooting bursts.

I think DC just doesn't have time to update all download links.

So, erm I was making a huge map. called a puzzle game.
andd.. while I'm working in it, suddenly this message appeared when I tried to save the map.
Failed to save map!

So at that time, I used total 10025 entities in the map.
I just chose to abandon the current progress and load it back.
and... this happened.



Yes, entire of entities in the map have vanished into the void!
I never have seen this bug before, never - never.
even autosave.map file is in the same problem.
so... I don't have a backup. how cool is it?

So what I did was, copy-paste same entities,

_oops: What does the console say after you got that "failed to save map!" error window? You should return to the main menu and check it. There might be a more detailed error message.
Could you please send me the map file (e.g. to the mail here http://www.unrealsoftware.de/contact.php) so I can take a look.
general advice: Whenever you put a lot of work into something you should make backups and store them in different physical locations (e.g. PC & cloud)

Okay.. that's a simple sanity check. CS2D assumes that your map is broken because it contains a ridiculous amount of entities.
I can easily fix this by increasing the number but of course this also means that you have to wait for the next update to be able to save that map again...
(or you reduce the entity count until then)

err kill me, pal.
The problem is, I can't see the entities so this is an impossible matter to solve. reducing the number of entities? I want to but I don't have backups so.
