Buying games = old

Not buying games = being cheap and poor.

So buying games is being rich and badass? Go on, buy games; tough guy.

No, buying games = supporting those who make them.

The three B's of life.
Buy it; Burn it; Bring it back.

Technically, I do buy the games.

But films, different story. Island, you know.

Not everyone has the money to afford that.

Then do what everyone else does. Save the money up for it.

PhotoShop for 760€?!

It's cheaper if you buy older versions of photoshop or if you are a student at a university or college. I can get Photoshop (and any other adobe products) for less than the average price it sells for because I'm a student.

My ass!

I can assure you that your ass isn't worth 760 Euros.

@OP, sopa has not passed yet, megaupload and a lot of other websites were shut down fair and square by DMCA.

A lot of other service hosts are getting scared and changing their sharing policy. I don't blame them, lawsuits usually win and they could lose billions.

I don't buy movies. For one reason. An uneducated actor or actress, who doesn't know how to read, goes on stage, does his/her thing and gets 20 million dollars for an hour and a half movie. Then, I have to buy the movie, that is overpriced as shit because it just came put. Then, on a lot of DVDs and Blu-Rays, I first have to watch a 10-minute long commercial of other movies released by the studio. And then I watch the movie. OH! And also, according to the licence agreement, I can't watch the movie with my friends or family, because I bought it and only I have the right to watch it. No, I didn't buy it, I RENTED it. That is how copyrighting works.
Games? Okay. Most of them are overpriced as shit. But those guys who made them had to sit days and nights learning programming or modelling or anything else, and they spent countless nights on making the game. Them, I support them. Actors? No.

That would took 5 years or so, not even my father gets 700€ a month.

And again everone is going offtopic... Soon an admin or mod will close this

Fortunately! I hope they in fact do, since this thread doesn't make sense from the beggining.

Invalid. Making a good movie takes years. There are good actors just like there are good games, not many though. In the end it's your choice whether to pay for it or not.

I guess you didn't read the part of my post where I said if you were a STUDENT then you could get it cheaper.

@user palomino: So, according to you, a film maker just creates a film over night out of shit, while gaming studios sit there day and night for a span of several years before their "not-at-all-overpriced-and-free-of-adverts"-game comes out?

Do you have any idea how long it takes to make a good film and how much work that involves?
It usually takes some 1000 or sometimes even a lot more people who work over 1-3 Years, usually taking on several jobs in the film, cooperating together and sometimes working in not very friendly conditions with actors oft being at risk of hurting themselves etc.

Then you come and want to tell me, that game studios have the greater amount of work and their games are worth more than the films that usually cost only half the amount?

To add to the topic: All of you, buy your games, programs and films, don't download them illegally (especially not if you liked them or use them a lot)!
