Hi us ,

On Monday my laptop was reformatted because of unstoppable BSOD... and then someone installed the drivers.. Intel Chipsets, Intel ProSET/Wireless, RealTek Audio, and Touchpad Synaptics.. but i noticed every time i drag or scroll the laptop was lagging..

My specs is

Acer TravelMate 4230
• Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T5500
(1.66 GHz, 667 MHz FSB, 2MB L2 cache)
• 15.4 WXGA LCD (16ms)
• Intel Graphics Media Accelerator - not sure if properly installed by the reformatter.
• 80GB HDD
• 512MD DDR2
• 802.11a/b/g wireless LAN

Can't play CS2D in DirectX.. always show ERROR_ACCESS_VIOLATION.. i tried to read the FAQ.. didn't work.. tried install NVIDIA and Intel graphics, video driver.. didn't work.. i've searching for some solution on Google.. won't work.. Any help?!

Download the appropiate drivers for your integrated graphics chipset and install them by yourself.

To get the right model some people use programs to identify their hardware. Everest is one of such programs.

I usually uninstall the graphics drivers and then install the right ones just to make sure that I won't fuck up anything.

Anyways, didn't your laptop come bundled with some driver CDs?

Actually I have another computer far worse than that and I can still get a steady 45 fps.

If you can't play in directx...did you try openGL?

I believe you need to have 2d acceleration enabled in dxdiag. (start-run-dxdiag).

Get a better video card.

Erm, taking the fact that this is a laptop, upgrading the GPU will be really hard and expensive. And as it's an Acer laptop, I don't think it is possible at all.

That's the operating system --''

You should check up on your drivers, question marks mean that they do not have a driver or they are using the default...

I guess it's easier to explain your situation in this way:

No video drivers installed = Windows uses default drivers = Software rendering using CPU = Bad perfomance = Sad laptop.

Correctly installed Intel's video drivers = Harware rendering enabled thx very much to Mr. GPU = Better perfomance = OK Laptop = Lag goes bye bye.

Excl. marks should mean that there is something wrong with your drivers or they aren't installed. Best thing to do is to go to http://acer.com, find your laptop or OS and download all drivers.
