The best are
Empire Earth, Age of Empires, Command & Conquer, Warcraft, Anno, and Fallout (yeah, Fallout was a strategy game). But these are old games, the most new one suck, except Anno.

I agree with you. Now people are mostly working on fps games with high quality. They pay attention on graphics.

I don't think you can be serious, i mean... leaving all the modern graphics stuff.
The units you build are giants, the town center is smaller than a fire pit. The houses are hamster cages... the game itself doesn't know proportions.
And the gameplay makes me creep.

Here is the list of best strategy games:
TBS(turn based strategies):
1st place: Civilization 4
2nd place: Civilization 5 (It has better graphic but worse gameplay)
3rd place: Galactic civilization 2
RTS(real time strategy)
1st place: Empire total war
2nd place: Shogun 2 total war
3rd place: Company of heroes
4th place: RUSE (good game but ubisoft forgot to use any advertisement to promote game so it is unknown to the world)
The rest of 'strategies' which were called here in this topic are just plain keyboard brakers. Winner is the person who faster clicks buttons on mouse and keyboard without any real strategy involved. Some of those 'strategies' are cossacks, age of empire, warcraft, C & C etc.

I don´t remember anything. I just know: You can build a city, choose a city name and then you can build things like a police station or a solar system. And you can make some missions like "Drive a police car to XYZ in XYZ time".

I am astonished to learn that some people actually know Earth 2150. It was a shining gem of a strategy game. I especially liked the tunnels system, when you could get to your enemy (or enemies) from under the ground. An awesome game indeed.
