GuestI guess Bizzl, the creator of the mod, will make an English version when the gold version (1.0) of Stranded II is out.
Always keeping up with DC's speed of development of is a Sisyphus' work.
But you forgot to translate it.
By the way, sorry for overloading you with translation errors.
Thank you for overloading me with translation errors. They're welcome at any time.
I think it's time for a new version - there are enough changes to make it worth downloading.

First, I install the game to, say, "C:\Games\Stranded 2". Then I take the english patch, and extract it into the same directory (so that "Stranded II English.exe" is in the same directory as "StrandedII.exe"). At this point, I cannot help but notice that a DOS window nameds "setup_s2eng" that opened up to display some extracting and/or copying processes failed to close - the text in it ends with:
"91 files copied
Invalid switch - /S"
Anyway, I close this window and run "Stranded II English.exe". Instead of the game starting, I get an error message about an illegal operation (Details display: Exception no. eedfadeH in module <unknown> at address 0000:00000000). I click Close on the error message, and immediately get another error message, this one saying "Exception EInOutError in module STRANDED II ENGLISH.EXE at 00062FF9. File not found." I click OK on that, and I'm back to the operating system.
All the while, the German version runs just fine with no problems - but I don't understand it.
I'd be grateful for any insight into the problem.
PS: If it's relevant, I'm using Win98.

Hello, there. I'm having some problems using the English translation patch, and I'm hoping you could help me. Here's what's happening:

It is possible that this switch does not exist in xcopy on Win9x.

That's because the starter expects a file startup.cfg in mods/Stranded II English/sys with the settings. But since your installation crashed it isn't present (the mod wouldn't work either, since there is obviously more missing)
Here is my temporary solution:
Install WinRar. I think it still has Win9x-Support.
Rightclick the file s2eng0100b.exe -> "Open with WinRar"
Extract the files somewhere into your Stranded II Directory (e.g. C:\Games\Stranded II)
Close WinRar. Open your Stranded II Directory
Go to "mods". Copy "Stranded II" to "Stranded II English"
Go back, then Go to "_setup"
Select All. Then use Ctrl+X or Rightclick->Cut
Go back, then Go to "mods" again and further to "Stranded II English"
Ctrl+V or Rightclick->Paste
Confirm any messages with "Yes" or "Yes, all"
Go back to your Stranded II Directory
Delete "setup_s2eng.bat" and "_setup"
run "Stranded II English.exe"
That should do the work.
I am sorry that my script doesn't work on old Windows, I'll see what can be done to change this soon.
Thank you very much!

Did you try using the right-mouse button on the main menu?
T.T
GuestIs the starter in the same directory as the main executable of S2?
Is there an stranded icon in the tray?
If it's the last thing, just right click it and choose "Close & Kill" or something, or simply press Ctrl+F10. That should terminate it.
