Both have their cons and pros, with relative to direction it's harder to walk but other players can't hit you so good anymore because you can just shoot at him and hold the left or right move key.
I use relative movement at the moment because I like it more, it was hard to control first but now I can play good like on absolute mode.

Whops, I think you posted in the wrong subforum ;P
As Pyromatic said, both have their pros and cons, so I bound
1
bind "space" "relativemovement"
To quickly switch between both modes whenever I need.

Relative movement is excellent for RPG and such maps, and I like it, but in action, absolute is better.

Relative movement takes a long time to learn and master it, on the opposite, absolute is easier and faster. Also, it's way more easier to use absolute while flashed rather than relative.

I use Relative movement because you move faster (if you are going right and sightly upwards, that little upwards movement is the extra speed that absolute can't copy without decreasing the speed), relative is good in open spaces but bad/dangerous if you are between 2 deadly tiles, anyway, absolute and relative are like automatic and manual transmisions in a race game, "Manual is hard to use but is more efecctive if is used correctly" --NFS6 HP2--

Relative makes me start going around in confusing circles in small places, which inturn makes me un-hittable. It also stops me from being able to aim

So eyah, absolute, simply for the sake of my sanity.

Absolute movement is what I prefer. Relative movement, I use it rarely... perhaps when I'm drunk I'll use it.

wrong.
if u start with rel u'll find absolute the same. and getting flashed is not a problem if u start cs2d with rel

once youve played enough there are only like two differences between abs and rel:
1. u can move more directly with rel
2. rel is more difficult in tight areas (like de_cs2d)
