G'day y'all.
I finally returned playing Carnage Contest after Alpha 0.0.2.5 and I'm having an annoying problem: my game is soundless.
I checked CarnageContest.com FAQ, specifically • this question, and it didn't help me much.
I also • searched for sound...

In-game, when I choose some sound options the famous problem appears and the game crashes...

My sound volume is also at maximum, still nothing...

Help is appreciated!

Try this:
Go to /sys/ folder.
Open settings.cfg with any tool like editor, notepad, notepad++, ...
search for the line: audiodriver ANY DRIVER
Delete this line.
Save, start Carnage Contest again.
If deleting doesn't work, try to set the config file yourself:
add the line:
audiodriver ANY DRIVER
one after another with the following list of drivers:
FreeAudio DirectSound
Default Driver
OpenAL
DirectSound
FreeAudio
FreeAudio Multimedia

btw: I get Exceptions all the time too Don't know why, but it seems like I can only start it when the audiodriver setting is NOT set in the config file.

If this has to do with the new version ( 0.0.2.5 ) then it may be Windows7/Vista incompatibility ( ? ). But it is most probably the audio drivers ( like TKD said ).

nothing has been changed in the sound system and it is still compatible with win7/vista. it certainly is just the wrong audio driver.

this problem occurs after each new cs2d/cc release. you only have to select the right audio driver again.

But your icons look like the ones from Vista/7 in the screen shot of ur EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION error? Plus, XP doesn't work with games like Just Cause 2, so i stick with Windows 7 for my gaming Ultimate.

I hate Vista, it's the most useless OS EVER

@DannyDeth: when I took that I wasn't actually on my PC: Yes, it was XP, but it had a thing called SevenMizer, so all icons, backgrounds, sounds, cursors, etc. from 7 are available on XP!

yes i agree i got vista on my old pc,. Slow as hell and explorer exe takes hour to move 100 files onto one folder. I got windows 7 on my new pc whitch i get next week from upgrade shop or how i can call it.
