This is an announcement by myself on behalf of The Cheeto Community, and is directed to all of the other servers and communities looking to pick up/already started roleplay.

First of all, I'd like to address some common misconceptions. I feel it has been going on too long and the only true way to get this off my chest would be via a public announcement here. After the announcement, I will have something many of you may find to be a good read;

The Cheeto Community ([CC]) does NOT steal ideas. Our server has been alive and kicking since last October/November and has been evolving "scriptually" ever since. The concept for our RP server came from me back in October when Trot suggested to us to move into CS2D. Ever since that day, we have allowed our hundreds of ideas to mix together to form the CC RP server as you see it now.

Although I feel as if I'm beating around the bushes here, so I'll just go ahead and say it right here. The "license" system was one of these ideas, and I hope to put to death the extremely annoying and even stressful misconception that we stole it from some community or another. No, all of our ideas are strictly from us or our the suggestion thread on our cs2d boards. We do not have the nerve to steal from another community's idea pot and claim it to be ours. Ehm, the same goes for our maps, too, I guess.

Two last things I'd like to address before the main reading here would be both the reason that our RP server is so strict and also some script I heard was released that mimicks our server's script. Our server is strict because we come from a serious roleplay background. Whatever most of you see going on in our server thinking is serious is not even close to the kind of RP we come from. And if you can't deal with the fact that we have strict rules, then don't come and don't spread rumours about us. It's common sense, and RP is not for everybody (get used to it). As for the script, I myself am fine with it as long as it was giving at least a speck of credit to us and even trot specifically for the concept. Instead I have been made aware that the writer of the script instead treats people from CC like Nazis. Nice attitude, buddy, we really appreciate it.

Now, on to the fun part.

I will attempt to make an understandable Roleplaying handbook for *casual* RPers. This in no way covers the heck-of-a-lot more that you should know that is necessary for Serious RP. I'm mainly just doing this because I'd like to see people knowing that RP is about actually playing the role of somebody THAT ISN'T YOU, not getting guns and shops.

Part One - Terminology

As a casual RPer, it is good to know the words used like the back of your hand. The following is a list of all of the terms we use that you NEED TO KNOW!
_______________________________________________

OOC - Out of Character. When you do or say something that your character would not say if the RP were considered real life.

IC - In Character. What we like to see.

GM - Game Master. Pretty much the admin of the RP. Usually the person who organizes the RP in the first place. In our server's case CTs and Premium Members (those who wear [CC] and have admin abilities) are the GMs.

Events - Special happenings that don't go on normally during the RP. Scripted events imposed by the GM.

Short-Term Roleplay - An RP where it's happenings only occur during the time that it is up. Average for casual RP.

Long-Term Roleplay - Is usually a more serious RP and rarely Life RP. Characters truly determine the storyline of the game, and do not cease to exist after the player has logged out.

Powerplaying - Roleplaying to the point where you are doing crap like *Dodges the bullet and becomes invincible from magic potion he pulls out of pocket because he has a potion making lab in his basement.* Nobody likes powerplaying.

Metagaming - Using out of character materials to gain an advantage in the RP. An example is maybe potted plants represent drugs, and you are searching the town for drugs. You see the leaves of the potted plant clipping through a wall, and therefore arrest the character in the house. I hope you understand what I'm saying here.

Part Two - Chat Filters

Now for CS2D, I had to modify the normal chat filter system used in most other games to due differences in gameplay. They go as follows.
_______________________________________________

OOC Chat - [[HAI GUYS, ANY EVENTS GOIN ON? ANY OF YOU SEE THE NEW EPISODE OF HEROES!? LUL

IC Chat - Hey Meur, could I buy a shotgun and a bag of cheetos?

When i changed my name on this server, I got banned. All the admins on this servers are just abusers and power freaks. Don't ever go to these servers.

That's the main problem with getting RP into CS2D. Many people will do one thing completely within the rules and get banned shortly thereafter. 80% of the unban requests we get that claim "Halp I was banned for saying hi WTF!" end up that the admin banned them for DMing another player. The other 20% always end up to be accidents/mishaps in judgement and the admin responsible ALWAYS

Perhaps you changed your name to one that was banned, or your new name was similar to that of somebody's who we found to be a problem. The CC admins are very quick-working to maintain server stability and will every now and then accidentally punish the wrong person. Them if not I will then work work work to get that person unbanned and apologize ASAP.

We recently had a problem with one of our admins going on a drunken banning spree (that admin has since been completely stripped of her powers), and you could have just been one of the unfortunate victims that didn't come forward with an unban request.

One thing you should know that I if not all of our other premium members are intelligent and will maturely work out issues with people no matter what the situation was (with the exception of hacking/cheating).

As always, RP is not for everybody, so I think your opinion should stay yours. We have had thousands of people exclaim they love the place and I'm sure thousands exclaim they hate it. It's all based on preference, and I hope that clears things up more.
