I wonder whether these natural that we are limited to 255 tiles, after even if more than 255 tiles but we can not see them but use them.. If we want to put the 256 th it is replaced by the first etc, it works only with Env_Breakable or Func_DynWall.

ok lemme see if i understand you... we are limited to 255 tiles... you have 256 tiles and can only be used if u use a entitne or w/e to select it? what are your asking?

It may be that way so that the file transfer/download when using multiplayer isn't so large, or to keep the game from lagging.

So it was intentional. I have a question- Why are they limited to 256?

CS2D maps use bytes to save the tile data. this leads to small map files. and one byte can hold values from 0-255 = 256 distinct values.

it would be no big deal to implement a higher tile limit but this would lead to larger map files and I think that you don't really need that many tiles. in most cases it's better to use additional images/sprites instead of trying to display everything with tiles only.
