however you have to read the sys/lua/info.txt as well as spartan029 said.
this file explains how you can use Lua in combination with CS2D - but it doesn't tell you how Lua itself works!
my suggestion how to learn this thing:
read a general Lua tutorial which is not CS2D related afterwards read sys/lua/info.txt in your CS2D folder read and try my example scripts sys/lua/samples try to understand them and play around with them (change or extend them) use http://www.cs2d.unrealsoftware.de/help.php?cat=server as CS2D command reference. many of these commands are useful in Lua and have to be used with the Lua parse command (or you use sys/lua/wrapper.lua)

Pls Help the Nooob!!! Yes, CS2D runs on version 5.1 (changelog.txt)
But it doesn't matter, no matter how old the version cs2d runs on, the language and syntax itself won't change, so there's no real reason to shy away from the tutorial just because you can't figure out if the versions are the same.
And he makes his own.
Like, go to that server file, you can delete the comment with -------------------- (optional) and follow these tutorials given by DC.
