It's been a while since news were posted here in the off-topic section. Well, I don't know if any of you are tuned with internet news, but the attempted suicide of Toaster Steve is all over news sites.
Basically, it's a guy (real name: Dakota J. Moore) known on the internet as Stephen (and later as Toaster Steve) who went to 4chan saying he was going to suicide by burning his dorm room.
Trust me, there's lots of people going to that site saying they're going to do it, but no one actually guessed Steve was serious about it.
He livestreamed it and there's a video here: http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=334_1385864004 (NSFW) of everything that happened, from Steve interecting with the chat members to him setting fire to everything and even the firemen pulling him out of his bed at the end of the video.

This is pure idiocy. He is not only trying to kill himself (which is already very stupid and desperate) but he also doesn't care about all the other people living in the same and adjacent buildings and about the firemen who risk their lives to rescue him and to extinguish the fire he started. He also doesn't care that kids might watch this or that people might try to imitate this.
I call this selfish, egocentric and reckless or just very stupid and imprudent.

I was trying to write from a 4channer's point of view, not expressing my personal views on it. I tried writing something different from the typical news sites that just report it objectively.
The "brave" adjective was to give more emphasis that I wanted to write a subjective and not objective post.
I can remove those adjectives from the blog post, though.

Quotations should be marked as such. And you should make clear to everyone that this isn't your personal view because it's a very bad and poor view and therefore it's not good when people think it's yours... so you should make some changes to this blog entry for your own sake. The video has no sound (if you look closely, throughout the video, anons are begging on the chat to turn the sound on, but he never does I guess) and it doesn't show much, besides what was already mentioned, his legs burnt up and firemen rushing him out of the room. What a lousy depressed person, looking for attention. Good thing his mission to become roasted pig for Christmas failed. So 4chan users actually supported him? fucking retards.
