not enough money to buy software? or you don't want to spend it? your problem! do you also go to a store and steal stuff if you don't have enough money? do you break into houses to get what you need? this stuff is not allowed.
10$ of course. if it is a legal option - but pirating is not a legal option so you have to stick to the 1000$ version. you can go to jail if you decide to pirate. just the fact that the chances that this will happen are very low doesn't make it better.
think about the people that worked hard on the product that you are about to pirate...
for video games I would say (this is my personal opinion, it's still not legal of course!) it is okay to pirate them FOR TESTING ONLY (!) if there is no demo version available. and to buy them if you actually play them longer than an hour and like them.
if you buy a pirat movie/game/or whatever it will help to the "pirate" who sell it and its like stealing to the people who created that because you are not helping them, in other words, they spent a lot of time to get just less than 200000$ (for example) instead of 3000000$ (another example), i preffer dont buy it
sorry, thinking that way is just stupid. imagine everyone would think this way. those people who created the product would get 0$ or not enough to cover the costs for producing it. they would be totally ruined. they don't get what they deserve.
that sucks.
@ BlackBelt: having no money is no point. having no money doesn't justify theft. especially if we are talking about luxury and I assume that we are talking about digital stuff like games and music in first instance. that is luxury. work and earn money if you want to get that luxury. downloading it without paying is illegal.
yes but, what will you choose in a game of 1000$ (original) and the same game of 10$ (pirat)?
Not sure if there WOULD a game with that price, but given time, the price will lower to an affordable price.
$1000? On-topic: Piracy is bad, yes. I download things, not sure if that is piracy involving music or little programs. So, DC is right: only obtain items through legal means.
i don't think piracy is ok, but I still do it (sometimes).
but I think that companies like hollywood and microsoft actaully waste money by trying to shut down the pirate bay and stuff. it would be more money effcient if they just tried to stop people who burn there CDs and sell them. And also, just because you can listen to a song on the radio doesn't mean people still don't buy it .
I pay if i think the price is worth it, for example, i would never pay $500 on a program like Adobe Illustrator.
I mainly download pirated games, test them (demo sucks hard), then if the game is good enough i buy it.
But there comes the bad part, for example, Minecraft is full of shit assholes that crack the client. I personally hope they burn in hell, but that's my opinion. Whatever.
That is bad. IF i will get some patentee (for example film or other sh.t) and it will be bad if someone will stand between me an PROFIT.
P.S.Game prise 1000 $ WTF ? I cant even this games are very low-price now in Russia average cost 500 rub. it near 16 $.
About software u can download it for free from site of creator for free (70% software Example: cs2d:)
Since I most of the time want to play multiplayer in multiplayer games, I need to buy it. So I buy the game. I don't really like pirating, but I don't like the way the industry "steals" our money by making games and music so expensive. It's stealing on both sides. So I think as soon as the industry would stop making everything so expensive, people would actually buy more often and pirate less. 60€ for a game is just too much. 30€ would be enough too.
My opinion:If you want to play, you can download a game without buying it and thats will be good for you.If you are creator of a buyable game, thats will be bad for you.
All for. not everyone on this planet is rich to spend high money with simple products
Half the products that do get released aren't even that expensive, especially when you compare them to other high priced items which usually blows my mind.
yes but, what will you choose in a game of 1000$ (original) and the same game of 10$ (pirat)?
I've never heard of a game being THAT expensive at all. Even then, most games that are released usually get a price drop within a few months (unless it's Call of Duty) I bought Deus Ex: Human Revolution for £25, 3 months after it was released.
The creator of MegaUpload was arrested and is currently in custody. Some people usually get fined a lot of money if you are caught pirating.
EDIT: Just realised he was given bail > http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-17122866

I never actually bother pirating anything that does get released. I can usually tell when something will turn out to be totally shit or totally good.
do you also go to a store and steal stuff if you don't have enough money? do you break into houses to get what you need? this stuff is not allowed.
Don't temp. ban me for this. It's not a funny image, it's true, in some way.
Yes it's illegal yadi-yadi-ya. But it has happened for as long as we can remember and it will keep on happening.
I'd love to pay for the shit I download on TPB, because spending money gives a great feeling, but I just simply don't know where to buy it.
