old Knife Hiting Wall BUG.

First of all i will start with a screenshot :

I was hitting the Wall With my Knife ( witch it is moded )

But There was NO SOUND When i hited the wall .. The speccialy sound that it is in SFX.

Now with the unmoded Knife , originaly one : http://f.imagehost.org/0125/ctf_fort_TGVnew_00000.png

And i still could destroy the wall without hearing any sound ..

Why !? It's this a bug.. ? I mean in a Perfect pozition i could do it.

whenever I hit and damage the wall I see some particles, hear the wall destruction sound + the knife-hits-wall sound. do you see particle effects when hitting the wall? does it actually cause damage? are you sure?

In some situations it looks like the knife is hitting the wall but it actually doesn't. however in those situation you neither hear a sound nor cause any damage. so this is okay as well.

First time , i saw this at a player who was destroying ma own building and i said "WTF" THIS IT SICK.

When i tried , once , twice , until i did it .. and i was hiting the wall but no sound ( the proper sound for hiting wall , and no particules blowing from the wall )

So i dont know how but sometimes , a few times i could do it and i was destroying the wall with this "bug" ..

Yes i am 100 % Sure about this , no particules but the wall was damaged i was like ':O WHAT THE F#*K .

probably it's a server which has lua, where if you destroy 5 team buildings, you can't destroy any other, maybe that's what happened, can u take a video or something so that we see very precisely

Perhaps the sound filename is wrong or the soundfile may be corrupt. That's my solutions to this.

yes, maybe it was one of the construction security settings. there are several settings. for example destroy max. X team buildings, destroy only buildings from enemies etc.

What is your Particle Details level? (Options|Graphics|Particle Details) Setting it on very low disables any particles caused by hitting a building. Also if there was a friendly buildings destroy limit, he wouldn't be able to decrease their health as well. And he said he could destroy them. And the sound... do you hear any sound when you hit normal wall (by normal I mean not a building, but a part of a map)? I am partially pointing to KimKat's post.

maybe it wasnt adding or decreasing or making sound because it was your team mates building.

People even if you can`t destroy team buildings still when hitting them particles come out and there`s a sound.

well I really can't reproduce this problem. maybe it was some heavy server lag or whatever. someone else hit the wall before and you didn't actually hit it (so you heard no sound and saw no particles). the "wall damaged" packages caused by someone else arrived delayed so it looked like you were causing the damage.

it could also be a strange entity/building constellation related problem if it happens on a certain map and at the same position all the time.

So you shot the wall using a gun? you're avoiding the issue.

Well, are you 100% sure that the knife makes no sound when hitting a wall? because when I hit a wall using the knife I always hear the sound. This may be caused by the soundfile itself, don't you think?

There is three files altogether when it's about the knife's sound characteristics; knife_hit.wav, knife_hitwall.wav and knife_slash.wav. I can only point out that these cause the problem... as I said before filename or file may be corrupt that's why it doesn't work (you hear no sound).

Realy this happend AGAIN!


Simplyfied : I was hitting the wall but no sound came out and no particules. but the wall III was damaged.
Why?!

The lag wasn't that big 70 Ping for me.

Yet again "you're avoiding the issue. " how could you hear the knife hit wall in a .gif animation? use Fraps and record both video and sound and show this glitch/bug to us. I also agree that your english could be better.
