hmmm, i don't think so.
Tried to upload some images but imgur is refusing to load...

Also, i saw that only brightened the shadows.

EDIT: I have found that it only affects the env_room thing but not the daylighttime on full dark.

what about adding deploy sounds for weapons? While on deploy you cant shoot, would be like the original.

@user StirlizZ-Fapicon: It does. But the serverlist is disabled for all pre-releases. So you have to connect manually via IP or LAN list. And of course all involved versions should be the 1.0.0.3 pre-release V2

@user mrc: No, not adding new features to 1.0.0.3. Deploy sounds would be quite easy to add. Deploy delays however would have quite some impact and would be much more work if implemented in a clean (hack-proof) way. Also they would alter gameplay quite a lot...

No additional recoil settings planned as of now.
There is no release schedule but it should be within the next few weeks.

@user DC: I tested this pre-release a bit, also talked to some skilled players, recoil, as it working now, need some changes in values. It`s a good upgrade of the gameplay, but some balancing needed.

I don't expect it to be balanced. It's too early and it needs more testing for proper balancing.

Of course you are right that settings for this would be very helpful so server owners can adjust it. I will consider to make it adjustable.

There is problem with alpha channel in menu - for example try file cs2d CSO Buymenu images (3D&Flat Style) (12)
Anti-aliasing algorithm is required for edges of env_cube3d
Need correct skins for player and legs animation(NPC and Hostages dont have legs too)

If a light source is created while player shooting, then for what there is still using old flash sprite? (flare3.bmp)
You can change it to different weapons muzzleflash sprites like this

, and you can reduce its size if weapon using silencer/suppressor/muzzle brake/recoil compensator, and change its location to top center of image weapon skin, and move gun smoke effect there too.

Add shadows based on skins instead using shadow.bmp

Frankly - if it is "Counter-Strike" then it should be similar to original, but at this moment there are long-standing problems with game balance and economy. It differs from original.
Many users(mappers, modders) try to make remakes of original maps, but existing tile system does not allow it to be done properly.
Also, there are remakes of scripts too that also try to replicate some systems from original original(like dead bodies, head shots, shooting through walls and so on).
So many things need to be improved and lead to similar parameters as it is in original.
I'm not talking about complete cloning of Counter-Strike game - no, top view is quite original, unique and unusual, but! If game have a similar name then it should have similar gameplay parameters, and this requires same balanced gameplay.
For example, despite recent changes, I would still pay attention to shooting and aiming. Especially in connection with appearing differences available in different screen resolutions.

I'm thinking on improving particles system. If would manage to find a way to increase the performance... probably I would let myself to re-write part of that feature with better effects.

The new crosshair are bit annoying since them looks out of place when you sprays many ammo.There should be a limit for crosshair sprite scale like in CS1.6 (or other CS titles).

Crosshair is not just a visual thing. It displays probability of bullets spread. Don't shoot like crazy, it won't increase the size like that. I'm still working on it, probably some weapons still have too much recoil.

Top down view have specific gameplay, in order to achieve a better balance and exclusion of case, I would suggest slightly changing shooting and sighting system. In particular, remember ballistic flight trajectory of bullet.

More than this I would suggest idea for scope view - as you remember in CS 1.6 scope change player view same as in real - it change player position to more closer to aim point. It can be done in cs2d in same way - just need to move player "camera" in player look direction and limit look distance and angle.

@user Pagyra: This is not the right thread for ideas or criticism on things which have been like this forever already. This thread is for the pre-release only and especially for fixing existing bugs.

As stated several times we won't change more stuff for the upcoming 1.0.0.3 release. Therefore new ideas don't make sense in this thread.

So please use the thread cs2d Ideas for CS2D - READ THE FIRST POST (OP)! if you want to suggest new ideas so they are found again later. I don't want ideas to be spread all over the forum in random places.
