ignore it. it's a relict from the old cs2d version which used another engine where FX has been used to make sprites glow etc. but you can now achieve that by selecting the right blend mode.

same counts for mask. at least partially. blend mode does what mask+fx did before.

that's also the reason why there are brackets around fx and mask. the only reason that they are still there is compability to maps which have been made with the old cs2d version.

Perhaps FX mode shall be removed then? otherwise you could come up with some good ideas to add into the FX modes such as neon glow or other cool effects that blend mode can't do. I don't know why there is things in games that can't be used. Make things useful and not useless, lol. CS2D needs more great functionality.

Well, I didn't really suggest that though lol. I really just wanted the FX mode to function while it functions, if you understand what I'm saying. If that's even possible.

Is it normal that when I'm putting "mask" on 4, the black parts of the sprites are getting transparent?

Uhm, I know that this is NOT the place to be asking this, but... can anyone help me with a graphics problem I'm having? If so it'd mean a lot to me.

The other day I was playing CS2D and making a map (a large one, 200x200) and after I saved, I clicked 'new game' and set it to LAN to go test out my map. As soon as I started, it gave me the 'exception_access_violation'. Now, I've read the FAQ and hopefully fixed THAT problem, but my gfx problem is that ever since it crashed, my CS2D and Stranded II windows have a 2 to 3 inch black bar on either side. I've checked the properties, the game says it's running fullscreen. I've also tried redownloading the game, which worked when I had my problem with CS2D locking up if I tried to edit a map that was larger than 120 squares.

Can anyone help me? Huge props for anyone who will give me advice, or, better yet, fix my problem.
