I got a question i've been Working on a Map called "Zombie Nation" if you've played the .## Demo that me practically asking for feedback (MY MAP IS 170 x 140!) so if you play the demo GIVE FEEDBACK anyways back to the question

I was playing a map called de_der_island or something and on the terrorist side its got a "Radio" that constantly played music in spanish and i wanted to know if i could put my own custom music into it like "its a wonderful world" and a song like that by a fat hawiaan guy who are very well known. if anyone knows the hawiaan guys name tell me!

To add music to your map add entity env_sound and then select the file/song you want. It can be triggered aswell. If you edit the value fields in it and add a trigger. I would recommend use of the .ogg format. Because it's size is lower than .wav/.mp3 usually. You could convert audio to another format to save space.

cs2d doesn't support mp3 since 0.1.0.5 anymore. I highly recommend ogg for music.

Why isn't .mp3 compatible anymore? it's just like any other format.

because blitzmax doesn't support mp3 due to the mp3 royalties. there is probably a module for blitzmax which adds mp3 support but I didn't add something like that yet.

Well I really think it should be supported, I think it will be useful with time.

It would be nice if even we are able to get that mp3 support by late of the time.

Or use File Factory
thats free and realy good
you also can convert movies etc with it

But why is .ogg better than .mp3?`

ogg is better than mp3 because:

• mp3 is proprietary (licensing fees etc.) and ogg is free (public domain)
• ogg has a better compression rate (smaller files) / better sound quality

the only (big) advantage of mp3 is its publicity. it is well known and most software/hardware is able to play it. however this doesn't mean that it is the most efficient or best format.

I agree with DC. There shouldn't be any support to .mp3. Besides, if you want to convert and edit, use • Audacity, the best (IMO) free software to edit and convert music.
