I see there's a problem with all the cooking process:
*I can't brew beverages, cut meat or prepare/bake potatoes even if my cooking skill is 226
*The bread takes too long to bake, from about two/three days in the game. You will need a lot of fuel to bake them. The time must be reduced. I wonder how a meat takes less time to cook thn a bread?
*Food desapearing from the grill when you sleep sometimes (don't know if its a bug).
*Doesn't matters how good I am in cooking, I can't do any good recipes I saw it would be possible. Can't cook potatoes or make sauces and beverages

And I have an idea for the mod as well if you think it's a good one: Add a new adventure/story on the game, as being fantasious. You can find weird npcs, fightmonsters and build a city for gathering resources and increasing population. There may be dragons, monkeys as turrets I dunno. It's an idea and I suppose it might be very dificult. But it's an idea so... yea

It would be a very large project, I think Builder is more worried about expanding the current features before going that way.
But please, no monsters... there's already plenty of that out there...

Bread does take a lot of time (but not days, maybe twice than meat, on hard) I could try to reduce that but honestly I don't know what a realist time to put.
Food disappearing never happened to me, but I only let it on the grill for one night at max. Maybe the lions go ninja style and steal your meat when you're asleep =P

As for the cooking, I'm sure there's a way, but a lot of recipes require lots of different ingredients... it gets tricky to learn that

hey Builder,
I read thru what you said about the steel making and i was wondering if you had fixed the steel bar forging, because in my game (made prior to the recent update) i still cant make steel bars even tho my forging level in almost 400,
is that just because its an older save file or because this has not been fixed yet?
not mad or impatient just wondering if i should restart on a new map, which i might have to do for crystals anyways

Damn, I really need to edit that file. >.> I keep forgetting to add a note that says what is added and what's not. With that said:
-I'll look into the food disappearing when you sleep. That's new. I already know that some people have problems with food just falling through the grill, and I think I've got a solution for that that doesn't involve Stranded II's crappy physics detection.
-Bread taking a ridiculous amount of time is intended.

Hello!
Builder, have you other link?

The next version will have a couple different links, yeah.

Whoops, it might still be broken. Next version will have it fixed, or I might have a hotfix up tomorrow or something.

As for news:
http://img191.imageshack.us/img191/110/poisonx.jpg

You'll be able to make poison from either mushrooms or collect it from those gas plants. Then you can use it with any weapon that includes in the description 'Can be poisoned'. It took me awhile to include this because I wanted to figure out a way that didn't involve a billion different combinations to make 'poisoned' items. I think this way works quite well. You equip the poison first and use it, then you switch to whatever weapon you want and your next attack will automatically be poisoned.

Currently there is a limit of 1 'poison'. I'll probably add a higher limit based off your hunting skill before I release it, so at low levels you can't use poison at all, but then at high levels you can have up to say, 4 poisons, queued up for your attacks.

Different weapons have different probabilities of actually *applying* the poison on hit. Either way, you lose it. Close combat weapons have a much higher probability of not wasting the poison, while better quality weapons have a much better probability in general. ie; A stone spear is 1 out of 10/8 (thrown/held), while a steel spear is 1 out of 6/4 (If I recall correctly).

After this is done I think I'll add a way to synthesize some of the needed explosive elements from those bang mushrooms. Maybe pure gunpowder?

Then I've got a few other ideas to give most of the things in the games some more uses.

maybe that could give you gas or other flamable liqued, and maybe make a whay to farm them... so you can set up a trapish-thingy

the poisonous gas from the poisonous plant should go like this
You take a bottle and use it to block the gas of the plant
After 1 day it should get filled and if its their for too long it might break up

@Builder2-0:

It seems to me (IMO) that your poisoning system could be improved by using the combination idea. Yeah, it's a long and tedious process, but you could make a poisoned version of every weapon (just add a 'P' to the icon, ignore the model) and put a count (say '5') that counts down with each use. Then all you'll have to make is a poison combination for them. That way, when the count reaches 0, you can alter item into the non-poisoned version, but as you rightly said, this is a long and slow process, so I'd say this is more a cosmetic change of process, but it might make it easier for new players to guess.

What, like... cheating? Yeah, that's arcade mode. Can't remember how to activate it though.

It's not hard to read, it's because the line endings are not windows standard line endings, so it looks like one long string. You could manually change them all, or you could download NotePad++ and load the file in that. It's quicker, a better editor and I know it's what builder uses to write the scripts.

I think WordPad (being an MS product) will only accept Windows style line endings.

builder, I've noticed that the cooking time at least for meat was reduced!
Was this intended? Playing on hard it only takes about 1/2 barks to cook meat

there's now a timer on the cooking_scripts file, I suppose it's from that

also, mini mini fix, all the cooking scripts file have (EASY) on the top, even the hard one, it may lead to mistakes

I'm not certain what you mean, it could be that you just got lucky numbers and the food cooked as soon as it could?

Other news:
New version will not to be compatible with save games, I apologize for that. I completely rethought how I was doing bottles. I made all these new items and combinations to separate glass and clay bottles. In retrospect, it never mattered, as you could not reduce glass\clay bottles back to their original forms. Thus clay creates a generic bottle, as does glass.

With that said, poisoning is finished. Still need to add in the harvesting from the poison plant, and change the default poison combinations.

The bang mushrooms are next. Also, a random image that has nothing to do with anything:

Is there anyway to set it up so i don't have to right click 500 times to build a storage? I thought an older version had set it up to just hold the button down but that does not work for me.

I was playing on a random island, and then it became incredibly slow. About 10 second response time to bring up the menu, and I basically couldn't move at all. Before this, it was fine. I changed all graphics settings to the lowest possible, but it made no difference. If I start a new game everything is fine, but if I open up that saved game it grinds to a halt. This never happened with the non-modded version either.

Is there any known reason for this? Its actually the second time its happened, but the first time it wasn't quite this bad. It's infuriating, I don't want to have to start a new game if that's going to end up being slow as well.

Send me a PM with your saved game.

EDIT: Poisoning combinations finished.
You can either harvest 'poisonous goop' directly from scorpions, or you can forage it from those poisonous gas plants. Alternatively, you can crush bitteroots or toxic mushrooms with a rock to get the poisonous goop. Then that is combined with water to make the poison.

EDIT: Bang mushrooms are now set up so that every day they have a 50% chance of spawning one item of 'black powder' nearby, up to three per mushroom.

EDIT: Uploading the new version.
