I don't quite get what you mean, animals are just as wild in both mods, apart from the fact that massive mods maps don't have as many dangers.

But if there really is a difference, ts in the source code, so you wouldn't be able to copy anything at all.

They arent. In Stranded 2.5 animals chase You across the whole island until You jump to the sea. In Massive they dont. I want danger but prefer Massive mod than S 2.5 so I need to increase animals fierceness

The only way they could chase you across the island is with...

Range=
# Set this to however far you want the animals to see
# You from, 50 being roughly 1-2 metres

Speed=
# If you take a look at the speed of the player you get a

# Rough example of how fast (2.5 being a running
# Person)

If you don't know where to find these codes look in your stranded 2 directory/mods/stranded II/sys/units.inf

Or a script that sets a variable to true when the player gets spotted, and, whilst that variable is true, makes the animal walk to the position of the player until the player jumps in the sea, at which point the variable is set to false and the animal resumes its normal behavior.

Hey, I love this game/mod, But I'm having issues. After fresh reinstalls and my own trouble shooting I would like to report/ask for help. With the mm_patch_4 (fishing overhaul patch) I cannot produce steel. (I'm under assumption that throwing coal dust on red hot iron ore makes steel) It doesnt work for me. I've also tried other ways just to try to get it to work.

SO on to mm_patch_5, supposedly fixes items disappearing from mines and other steel and mine related bugs. But with mm_patch_5 fishing doesn't work for me. Hooks and bait go unused and nothing is caught. I'm either stuck with no fish, or stuck with no steel. Its pretty annoying...I would be grateful for any help or fix.

old [Request] Weight Ring

Can someone mod a new item that decreases the Weight?
It'll be kind of a magical ring:

Gold + Large Crystal + Silica Dust = Magical Ring
Weight = -1000

If that is too unrealistic, then mod a Back Brace:
4 Skins + 10 Cords + 10 Branches = Back Brace
Weight = -10000

I tried to mod it myself but I keep getting errors.
Can someone point me to an easy modding guide?

Google + a bit of searching = 9999999 max weight.
You can change the max weight in one of the .txt files, google it.

I know how to change the max weight, and other things like that; like changing the butterfly weight to -500.

What I wanted was some realistic item that could lessen weight and fit in with the game, actually fit with Massive Mod. That's why I prefer the back brace or an extra backbag instead of a "magic ring."

I wanted to ask someone to refer me to a modding guide for Stranded 2, because it'll be more efficient instead of having to learn how to mod all games in general.

I have a question:
1. What can I do to clean up/fill well?
2. How to make steel?
My English is not very good:)

Mam pytanie:
1. Co zrobić aby oczyścić studnię?
2. Jak zrobić stal?
Mój angielski nie jest zbyt dobry

Well;

I has a question:
Can u carry 25kg of weight on your back?
A:No? Hmmm...

A:Yes?
And all the day???
A:No??

If u answer yes u are one of the few persons that can do it.

If u add more things to weight it will be unrealistic (i know the name of site is Unreal Software but the mod is to be realistic xD)

Did u understood what i mean?

@ memory error when loading

this works for me but im sure it will cause problems down the road... could be wrong tho.

1. install stranded 2 with the windows 7 patch.
2. copy the contents of massive mod
[[[except for the strandedII.exe]]]
3. paste the copied contents of massive mod into the stranded 2 folder like you normal would. (replace all, ect)
4. run with massive mod.bat

hope this helps.

now for the stupid question i have. i playing on an island that has no fresh water source. i dont really have a problem getting water for myself, however, to make tools, (i assume) i need to fill the clay bucket with fresh water. how? i have chipped out every water rock on the island in hopes that it would rain but no such luck after about 30 days. even a well would get me by but it wont seem to let me build that yet. i kinda remember way back in the day when you could do a raindance or something like that. is this still possible? or does anyone know of a way to fill the bucket or quick cool the tools that i may be overlooking? thanks

If everything else fails, 30 leafs and a stone will give you a bottle of water you can use (just combine a water bottle and empty bucket to fill it) . Once thats done, I'd build the distiller, stuff few logs inside and you are good.

BTW, does anyone knows what to do with the salt? I've tried it with meat and fish but that gives me "no can do"....

lol... knew it was something easy like that. i thought i tried it but i guess not. thanks Dark Art.

i thought i read about salt being used on meats at one time... not sure if that was implemented tho.

old Massive Mod bugs/issues?

I've actually stopped playing the Massive Mod w/patch because of the two following issues:

1. Every time I sleep I take a 15% hit to my Health that I can't recover from (juice helps some but not nearly enough to offset the sleep hits). I hit the sleep key each day and get the "red flash and grunt" and in 6-7 days I'm dead.

2. In Random Play, medium islands DO NOT have any "permanent" water rocks. I've run a dozen or more medium islands and NONE have had a "Spring" Rock. Once the 2-3 "pond" rocks are empty it's rock+leaves for water. Which doesn't leave much time for anything else after running around gathering at least 60 leaves per day.

While I think the Massive Mod is a great asset to Stranded II, it's just not playable for me with these two issues.

Maybe it's me, I'm old (63) and maybe I'm just getting to old to survive anymore.

build a shelter, sleeping out in the open will take health away each time you sleep.

then work on a distiller(which goes on top of a fire pit)

bottles(clay + knife... then use near a fire to harden) can be filled with saltwater and the distiller will take the salt out over time. it works great once you have about 15 bottles in the distiller, shouldnt run out of water at all. for the first few days i usually just stick to raw meats and berries to quench my thirst.

travman84,

Thanks for the reply, didn't give the shelter thing a thought.

That's probably the answer, was thinking too much about everything else and ignoring the shelter.

Wish Builder had lightened up on the water supply a bit though, that kind of change is a bit too tight fisted in the "EASY" random maps. If I knew where to change the scripts to reset the Water in the map generator I do it that way.

Again thanks for the reply.

i will kinda agree, it does go from easy to hard real fast. maybe the medium difficulty should have full water rocks and rain, but no fountain. im guessing rain was taken out of the medium script because it has still not rained on my lil island.... but it's still amazingly green

i tried looking for the script to edit but didnt come up with much and lost interest after hitting a few dead ends. the distiller is a pain to keep going at times but i like the realism behind it.

overall i still love the mod and hope it continues to grow.

travman84,

Heheheh, I have the answer for the water problem. Go into the Massive Mod SYS folder and look towards the end of the file listing. Look for the files that are named

random_01

random_02

random_03

These are the EASY, NORMAL and HARD Level setup files for random island creation. Chose which level you want "water fountain rocks" in.

Open the file with Notepad and your looking for the section reading:

// Forced Creation of Important Stuff
if (count("object",121)==0){ randomcreate "object",121,1,500; } // Grain
if (count("object",47)==0){ randomcreate "object",47,1,500; }      // Cotton
if (count("object",66)==0){ randomcreate "object",66,1,500; } // Clay

Now add this line:

if (count("object",75)==0){ randomcreate "object",75,1,500; }      // Watersource

So the file now looks like this:

// Forced Creation of Important Stuff
if (count("object",75)==0){ randomcreate "object",75,1,500; }      // Watersource
if (count("object",121)==0){ randomcreate "object",121,1,500; } // Grain
if (count("object",47)==0){ randomcreate "object",47,1,500; }      // Cotton
if (count("object",66)==0){ randomcreate "object",66,1,500; } // Clay

Now any random map you generate with that "Skill" level will have water on it.

I did some file comparisons with the Stranded 2.5 files and the Massive Mod and stumbled on the difference between the two files that had to do with the "Watersource". So I took a chance and copied the line from Stranded 2.5 into the Massive Mod file and it worked.

Consider it a payment for the help you gave me.

Now you have a choice, you can ignore the water fountain rocks and just use the distiller or use both or just the rocks.

it did finally rain on day 40 so i was wrong on that part... it is just very seldom i guess. i had so many water skins saved up from kills that i dont think ill ever have a water problem again :-p
