lol i know , i feel extremly re-tarded for not reading the title, i just saw Massive mod and clicked, wasnt till he pointed it out that i had a moment of retard clarity lol

I know that...

For most other games I also just want to download some stuff... Heard? JUST DOWNLOAD, not read 100 posts, learning to script and such stuff...

Mostly I also just type the word 'download' in the search-function and *click*.
Not reading, not thinking, just DOWNLOAD!

So don't worry about your bad strategy for downloading stuff...

It's a bug
Maybe Builder can fix that on the next release

The only way I've gotten it to work is by throwing the coal dust on a piece of red hot iron. Perhaps the iron you're throwing it at isn't red hot?

You shouldn't be throwing them at the bars, you should only be throwing at the lumps of red hot iron.

Once the coal dust hits the red hot lump of iron, it should immediately turn into a cooled off lump of soft steel that you can grab(but not with pickup{u default} button)

old Lava Forge

Well now that that's solved, I'm having a problem of my own. I can't seem to get the lava forge to work. The scripts make it look like it should work by having the "lava fire" make an anvil nearby, but I don't know if the anvil didn't spawn, my game is messed up, or what. I tried throwing soft iron and regular iron on and near the anvil that is visible but it has no effect, the iron doesn't heat up or hurt me when I pick it back up. I've tried having the forge on, then throwing, as well as throwing first, then turning it on. Anyone else having the same problem?

EDIT: Ok, I now think the problem has to do with time. In the mine it is always 21, regardless of how much time you spend down there. Because time isn't passing, the ore can not heat up. However, a very loose solution that is not worth it in my opinion, is sleep. Whenever I sleep it passes to the next day, therefore any iron on the forge will heat up. If I try to remove it though, I will burn myself. To let it cool, I would have to turn off the forge and sleep without shelter again.

@Mesarobert:
Nah, that's not it at all, I think the update awhile ago broke some scripts. It'll be fixed when I fix the other mine problem (the health damage one). I'm pretty sure that has to do with the survival health bonus not being registered correctly and the game thus giving you the wrong amount of health (by subtracting it). Trying to figure out the exact numbers which are wrong has been a bitch though.

it works like a "water rock", it fills when it rains

You can find many help on this forum, but there's no guide that I know of

I always use SIIMV (Stranded II Mod Viewer) from Psytechnic. There's a thread on another page where you can download it and it can display all the combinations/scripts for the items and the probability of getting what when you hit this tree/rock. It shows a lot and has come is great use for me.

Presumably to distill saltwater into drinkable water.

NEW VERSION:
http://www.filefront.com/17285769/Massive-Mod.zip/
Updates has written
Merged in parts of Ironlion's addon:
-Bamboo spears
-Torch combinations
-Crystals & glass production
-Changes to handle production

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Added fixes identified by Peropero:
-Potatoes
-Extra liver when filling water bucket
-Water pump requires batches of nails rather than nails
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

-Fixed steel spear exploit.
-Steel & coal items added to the pickup script.
-Fixed mine.
-Fixed steel making.
-Tried to fix lava forge, found no problems?
-Crystal objects added to map generation.
-Fixed all stone objects so that they give the correct items when hit with a steel pickaxe versus an iron pickaxe.

I've got an idea for how to fix all the problems with the grill. It's rather hacky though.

EDIT: Mine is fixed.
The problem was that the mine wasn't registering the player's max health correctly (it forgot to add on the bonus from the survival skill).

EDIT: The lava forge.

If I try to remove it though, I will burn myself. To let it cool, I would have to turn off the forge and sleep without shelter again.

I've tried to test this but the forge works fine for me. Here's the procedure for using the lava forge:
Hit the button on the table. It should say 'Lava chutes opened', there will now be a fire in the lava, and the anvil will look red hot. Throw your metals on the red hot anvil. Wait. They will eventually turn red hot. It takes the same amount of time as on a normal forge. Hit the button again to turn the lava forge off and let the metal cool to a soft state, or douse them with water to harden them.

Which part of that isn't true for you? I'll try to fix the bug if you can give me a bit more information as to why the forge doesn't work. Btw, the 'game time' has nothing to do with the time I measure in the forge scripts.

Next up, steel making.

EDIT: Alright, steel making is fixed as well.
I removed the code for throwing the coal and instead changed it all to use 'right click'. Then I completely re-did how that works, so it's a lot better. Basically, if you've got red hot iron, soft iron, or hard iron on the forge, right click with coal in your hand. It'll use *1* piece of coal, and change *1* piece of iron to red hot steel. So if you've got ten pieces of red hot iron, and want to turn them all to steel, right click ten times.

Ok, well my suggestion about the game time was a stab in the dark anyway, and I thought I had recalled it working on a previous version so I had no idea why it wasn't working. In any case, the problem is no matter how long I wait iron will not heat up when the forge is on or cool down when the forge was off. Probably just the save file is messed up and seeing as there are new updates, I'll make a new game anyway and let you know if I experience further issues.

Ah, that's one of the merges from Ironlion's addon. Fixed it now; interestingly enough it didn't make any difference ingame. Thanks for the error report. (I usually only use S2MV for combinations troubleshooting)
