Electricity? Solar Panels? Dams? The most you could manage is a mechanical waterwheel or possibly windmill.

Yeah man thats all possible

There is an electricity effect too like flame and smoke
Havent used it so I cant verify what it does.
But toying with an idea of leyden jar maybe light, stun gun or use it to charge a capacitor arrow or something

A great light device is a dribble of sump oil and water onto a red hot metal plates which gives of heaps of white light and heat

Maybe not the hydroelectric damn never say never but no streams or such makes that idea harder to obtain

ufo fall easy as a monkey running, then breaking into smaller models in a dispersive show with smoke and explosions

2D sprites can be made for various user experienced phenomena.

So yeah within my scope and understanding its all possible & its all relatively easy (times by lots of time) except the dam bit.

If you haven't used the electricity effect, it makes your movement slower. It also damages you a bit. As far as i know, you can't cure that.

I've returned to playing MM yet again, wanting to check the new version.
Noticed that the sharks are still able to eat the player while sailing with the raft.
Got a bit frustrated, went into editor and slapped about 50 sharks into the water around the tiny default island. Went into test mode and waddaya know, the sharks were not biting. There was no "Hunting Player" tag above them.

Descending into the water sent them into a frenzy instantly.

So far I've been trying to play on randomly generated islands with the "normal" template. I suspect that on such maps, the water depth around the islands is too shallow, thus somehow "raising" the sharks a bit more than they are supposed to be.
I'll look into it a bit more. And while I'm messing around with the editor, maybe I'll make a custom island worth sharing.

I'll keep you posted.

EDIT:
I have no idea what's going on.
After testing with 50 sharks and pirahnas in the editor, I quit the test mode to main menu, as such the debug tags remained above all critters.
I loaded my saved game, jumped on the raft and sailed into deep waters. The tags above the sharks turned into "hunting player" and "attacking player" even tho i was still "mounted" on the raft and moving.

The only difference between editor mode and my savegame is that the sharks in the editor are placed and the ones in the savegame are generated by the passing of days.
Needless to say, this happens into the latest MM unmodified version.
Does anyone else have this problem?
I can provide savegame if needed be.

You can make your own random mode
eg I have random_04_endless_mik.

Which basically mixes random endless easy items with random endless hard units but with the random occurance probabilities jacked up

That way when you get into it you can randomly generate maps specific to what you like

In reply to riven: I had the same problem, download the windows 7/vista fix.

Copy the folder that contains massive mod itself, and place it in the stranded 2 mods folder.

Then, instead of using the massivemod.bat file, press start and "Run" , click browse and find the file StrandedII_Vista7Fix.exe, click it and type (-mod "Massive Mod") after it (without the brackets)

This should start the game, it worked for me on Win7

On a side note, using this method i experienced horrible lagg ingame, something i never had when playing normal stranded

Hi, nice to see you again guys
I've problems downloading the new version of the Massive Mod from filedropper, can you set up a mirror like megaupload.com or rapidshare.com or fileserve.com (with some nice resume feature )?

Another thing: time ago, playing the old version, I noticed that when you create a new random map, the map is way too linear, I mean that when you choose a flat land, is really always flat and if you choose mountainous, really there are always mountains. I think the map is too boring in this way, I prefer, for example, in the flat mode, some little mountain, or maybe a big one, and in mountainous mode also some flat space, otherwise is really always the same...

So I can play in some map similar to the first one in adventure mode, wich has a few of everything.
(And I don't need to create one from scratch in the editor)

Is this feature implemented in the new version? If not, is possibile this adjustment?
Really thank you!

I have found a slight bug. Since I haven't yet gotten two pieces of flint I have been using the stick and bark combination to light my fire. However this combination doesn't work when trying to light the forge. This is only a minor inconvenience but I thought I should report it.

I would also like to make a minor suggestion to improve the usefulness of the map. Could a charcoal and map combination be used to spawn an info object that would show a mark on the map and (if possible) choose the color of the mark from the three default map markings (blue, red, and green)?

Thanks for the great mod!

-Fix stick & bark to work with forges.
-Map markings are on the todo list.

Found a little bug! Whenever I exit the mine I take massive damage, and if I exit it low on health, it kills me.

Same problem here. Has the newest version fixed it?

-Investigate mine, fix it.

I don`t think so.
What does requiet (skill)hardwood handle ?

Woodcutting.

One more question

When you build a well, it will eventually get contaminated with dirt and tells you that you need to dig near it with a spade to fix it.

I've dug plenty of holes near the well and even dug a trench all the way around it, down to the water table, and it still doesn't do anything. What am I doing wrong?

You're digging holes, but the game is looking for the 'dig' command. You want to left click with the shovel until it says 'I will dig for useful items!', then right click near the well to 'dig'.

Hi folks,
my first post!

been playing Stranded II with the Massive Mod all day now.

Love it!

question though, I can't figure out how to make metal tools after i've forged the heads.

i've tried combining with long and short handles, logs, wooden rods, branches.. nothing works!

before i switched to MM, it was hammer with iron and branch.

i've tried with both soft metal heads and "tempered" heads (should really change from "hard" to "tempered" as it's technically inaccurate :P).

Am I missing something?

Nails. This will probably changed in the next version, it confuses tons of people.

CPG has written
@Builder
Major error when using the forge.
It all started when I left some soft iron rods and nails in the forge. When the fire went out and the soft iron tools had cooled I came back and relight the forge to finish making the tools but the tools wouldn't heat up. To confirm this I placed unworked iron, an axe head, and an iron rod and followed the same heating and cooling cycle. When trying to reheat it however I placed unfired copies of the iron tools and unworked iron. The only items to heat were both unworked iron clumps and the unfired iron tools. This problem can be fixed if the items are picked up and thrown back on the fire however if the item is to deep in the forge this can't be done. Also these items get trapped in the forge since the pickup script will not get unfinished items. Please look into why this problem is occurring.

Whoops, I knew there was a point to why I originally wrote the script that way... >.> I cut out some bits to try to help with the lag. In retrospect, those parts were important.

Hey guys

Just got the mod and it is so AWESOME. Great fun.
Just got a couple of things to say
-At night time it is hard to see if meat is cooked or not, maybey they could glow or a message when they have cooked.
-Sometimes iron gets stuck in forge(Quite rare though)
-And i have a question of what things can i use to fast-cool hot iron. I only know the bucket

Thanks

Use the pickup key if iron gets stuck. Food glowing when it is cooked is possible, maybe. Bucket is the suggested way to cool iron.

Lizard Ant has written
Thanks heaps Vibhor

Also one more question, dont know if this has been broguh up yet or not but im doing the multi-island map of the single island category
I have just made a log boat and am intending to visit other islands for materials and such
I decided to make a tent in case i was to need it while too far from a permanent shelter

My surviver level is 80(High enough to build a tent) and whenever i combine sticks with skins, the combine screen says in red Item Not Possible or something like that

Just wondering if this is a glitch or I have done something incorrectly!

Thanks
Lizard

Seems to be a glitch.
-Fix tent bug

I have a question:
1.How to make spears - what to combine (I mean the iron spear)?
2.How to make steel?
3.How watered corn?
Please bear with us, do not know English very well:)

1. Spearhead + nail + long handle.
2. It's a secret. It involves coal and iron.
3. Filled bottles of water. Use them near crops. Although I don't remember adding corn...?

How do I "prospect"? it says I have high enough level, but I cant figure it out!

EDIT: Also, how do I make a mine?

Prospecting is with a shovel, if it is working correctly.

CPG has written
I have found a strange error and would like to know if this occurs to anybody else. When entering the mine I seem to lose some of my items. I have entered the mine many times and began to notice that items were missing when I brought my pickax to the mine and it the handle broke. When I exited the mine the head seemed to be missing. I thought it was just me and reforged my pick and went back into the mine, where I discovered my pick had completely vanished. I reloaded a save just before going into the mine and counted all my item types and found that I went from having 31 Item types to 22. Am I the only one with this error?

I'll look into it.

Can someone tell me how to make arrows? i've tried to combine feathers with branches and that doesn't work. Does the machete help with making arrows? Or a knive? So as the poison arrow, how can i make a poison arrow.

And Tinny, just open Massive Mod.bat

You need arrow shafts, not branches. Branch + knife should do it.

I've been playing and I experienced interesting problem. If you plat a potato, you can harvest three potatoes right away, in the same minute! It should need to wait like three days like grains and berry bushes, don't you all think?

-Known bug, it will be fixed.

Lizard Ant has written
-Possibility to travel to a new island on a raft(Maybey can travel back and forth islands for materials, giving the sail raft more use)
-Blank peices of paper, so you can draw a map(or maybey a set map for islands) of the island, to make it easier finding your camp

Possibly. Maps are already included.

Hi

I just started playing this mod, and I have a question
How do you use the distiller? I saw a few pages back that it needs salt water, but I cant use bottles, it says I need a fresh water source.

And I think I found a bug, when you fill the clay bucket with water, and have a liver in the inventory, it duplicates and the new one is filled with water.

Also, are there any "water fountains" like in the original game? without an unlimited source of water, the game gets pretty hard
Maybe that's the point...

To get saltwater, you need an empty bottle in your backpack, (not in your hand) and you have to go into the sea and try to drink saltwater (press E). When you have a bottle in your hand it doesn't work.

Yeah, that's the point.

EDIT: I think found some bugs

You can't throw a hard iron bar, and when you discard it near the forge, it doesn't heat up.

When you make steel (I've finally found how to do it now I just need to find out how to make an arbalest :P)
it seems that you can use the same coal dust multiple times.

When you press U button ("pick up") it doesn't pick up coal dust and it's a bit annoying when you miss the iron in the forge and you try to pick it up (and it's quite annoying that you have to hit the iron with coal dust. Why not to make steel by using coal dust near a forge when there is hot iron inside the forge?)
