Poison already can make poison arrows. And I while back I proposed combining my mod with yours, or rather giving my mod to yours, as my mod (My Stranded) Completely lacks new structure. Anyways, bamboo can be used to make spears to. How a bout a blow gun that uses bolts, but doesn't do as much damage or go as far. You can use poison to tip bolts, spears, or arrows. Flint can be used to sharpen and maybe make new weapons like combat knives. Oil and fat could be used to fuel new lamp posts. Clay could be used to make bowls, pie dishes, or plant pots (dunno). Bark could be used for buildings. Fuses, metal balls, saltpeter, gunpowder, and others can lead up to cannons, which can be wheeled around and used to fell trees, destroy rocks, or heck even kill animals. Pitfalls for animals can be made using leaves and vines. When a large animal walks on top, the land is lowered and their speed is set to zero. Bolts/nails can be used to make a trap that will kill the animal instantly. Vines, skins, bendy branches and branches can be used to make a large slingshot which will be able to fire stones. Bones can be used to make pestals, which can be combined with grain and the clay bowl to make grinding more efficient. Maybe for buildings windmills, which automatically grind tons of grain efficiently, a covered fire which replaces it's fire state with eternal fire, and shuts itself off without fuel, and the traps.

Good suggestions, I'll add some of them to my todo list.

Also going to copy\paste this here since it's a new page (make it easier to see):

-Cotton\Wool (thread only)
-Coal (blackpowder, steel, fuel only)
-Bendable branches (bolts, bows, fishing rods only)
-Vines
-Skins
-Pebbles
-Bark (fire & paper only)
-Bamboo (bolts only)
-Clay (bottle\bucket only)

Bones, claws and teeth (especially bones) can be used for tools. Say, bones could be used for producing needles or fishing hooks - buy the way, it may be a point, making fishing a bit lesseasier, especially if the hooks broke at the current rate of all the other tools.
Vines (IMHO) are better left alone - they are used in many of the buildings and there aren't so many of them in your average island (until you get to planting trees of your own, of course).
Clay may be used for the shaping of an oven of sorts... yet it will give a damn lot of "it's falling through!!" errors and maybe is not worth the effort. On the other hand, having a place where you could cook during rainy days... But again, there aren't so many)
Feathers - what about quills? Writing with charcoal on paper is good, ut a quill will be a step above=) Then we come to the point of ink and an ink-bottle, of course... and the nessesity of all these on an island in the middle of nowhere

Then a bit of creativity:
To make planting and watering more "socially accepted" (I never mentioned easier ), it may be worth a try to use the forrowing scheme:
1) You use dirt (or showel, I suppose) to prepare a place for your plants. Say, it is a straight line about the length of a water through. (And it'll have to be a separate model... though i think that a plane with a texture or a not-very-high box will do)
2) you build the named water through. It would be perfect to be able to build a system of those, but, taking into account Stranded's "love" for level surfaces and neat connections it would have to remain an ideal.
3) You plant your plants there (and it must be impossible to plant them elsewhere, say, "the earth is too hard" or something like this)
4) Now comes another tricky part: the script should say "if the water through is full then all the plants in adjacent beds are watered AND the amount of water in a through decreases over time AND if a full bucket is used nearby then the through is full again".
5) When the crops are ripe, you harvest them. Grain may present some difficulty, because sheaf may start falling through the texture... but then, the grille works!

-Swallowing charcoal helps a lot with neutralizing certain types of poison.
-Cotton/Wool+Skins= Bed Roll/Sleeping bag. Simply having it in your inventory negates or significantly lowers the exposure from sleeping without a building. Lighter than a tent and does not require deploying.
-Pebbles are actually very important. I use them to mark the way home when going on long trips. Nothing worse than blundering in the rain at night and stepping on a lion.
-12 Pebbles+1 Stick= Sundial building (not casting a real shadow but rather displaying a message when used.
-Bark= Actually the machette handle can be made from bark. I can make some pretty darn good knife handles from boiled resin and bark.
-50 Clay = the equivalent of a water-holding stone.
-Clay can be used to make oil burners - as a static or hand-held light source.
-Dirt - Make it a requirement in building the two types of plant gardens.
-Claws,Teeth,feathers,bones+thread= Beautiful necklace (treasure) used for trading purposes with the natives, instead of meat/bread and others. (And speaking of which, maybe we could have an increased chance to random-spawn natives in a tiny village? Usually when I find a native I tend to build at least a bamboo hut and a torch for him, but once I went as far as making a fortified village for the sucker.
-I have noticed I have a stupid tendency of hoarding gold nuggets, crystals and pearls and placing them in a "Hidden" crate.
Maybe we could have a treasure chest container that accepts only "treasure" item types?
-Saltpeter/Sodium nitrate is generally used to manufacture nitric acid, to propel model rockets, and to increase the shelf life of meats and other foods. Army food contains saltpeter. It's also used to manufacture glass... Since we don't have food decay (and Builder, please don't add it, that would make the game hellish) I guess we can use it to make glass bottles? But we're missing the quartz sand. So...
-Bones can be made into bonemeal, which is a plant fertilizer. Glue can be also made from boiling bones to hell and back.
-Oil, Flour, Starch and Sugar = Halva/Halawa. That's a middle-east sweet treat.

Charcoal (blackpowder, fuel, maps, journal notes, markings only) - charcoal has uses in medicine, it has the property of absorbing some toxins, especially if you eat something bad

-Cotton\Wool (thread only) - any type of clothing. you said its not really possible to make it work. but maybe not fully at least? since you can already alter speed / max health with code (survival skill) you could make patterns that alter these, only once. as in player uses boots pattern, his speed is increased and it doesnt stack. real downfall is that player cant really see what is he wearing, as these arent actual items. also they dont break. or do they? why not add some code that after few days this "clothing" falls apart and player needs to make new ones? maybe you could also add another window or even diary entry where player could check his clothing and its condition? This alone would open whole bunch of new possibilities

-Coal (blackpowder, steel, fuel only) - actually i would use it as the only available fuel for the forge, at least for the better metals. i dont think charcoal (in the way we obtain it) woulg give enough heat to melt any metal :S.
Also getting charcoal from campfire seems kinda lame. usually you need special building where you put lots of wood, cover it with earth / moss and let it "smoke" for a long time

-Bendable branches (bolts, bows, fishing rods only) -

-Vines - vine ladder maybe?

-Skins - as i proposed before - backpacks which work just like butterflies. add to it clothing

-Pebbles - i think use as ammunition is enough.

-Bark (fire & paper only) - shredded bark is needed to improve the soil for certain plants.

-Bamboo (bolts only) - cant bamboo poles be used as pipes? to help with gathering water from trees during rain. or maybe long pipe that you can use to refresh your breath while underwater (as in one end is above water surface), usable till certain depth. prolly would also need it for extracting oil.

-Clay (bottle\bucket only) - i really dont understand why bricks arent good idea, its just so obvious
probably will be needed for water distilation tools, unless you wanna start making glass.
also wine isnt made by just pressing grapes, you need special tools as well and some time.
also mentioned oven - i really think some dishes like bread cant be just cooked on the fire. "and to avoid falling through" - wouldnt it be possible to cook items in building's "inventory"? i can see you already can access such items, as it works with fuel fir campfire / forge. my guess would be that problem comes with timers - items in inventory arent separate objects, they are just "stacks". so why not use 1 timer for them, and i just "lock" the oven when you start baking and unlock when its done?

-Crystals (no use) - some sort of currency to trade with tribals?

-Dirt (raising land only) - needed to build charcoal burner.

-Saltpeter (blackpowder only)
from wikipedia ^^:

Potassium nitrate is also used as a fertilizer, in amateur rocket propellants, and in several fireworks such as smoke bombs.
In the process of food preservation, potassium nitrate has been a common ingredient of salted meat since the Middle Ages,[6] but its use has been mostly discontinued due to inconsistent results compared to more modern nitrate and nitrite compounds. Even so, saltpetre is still used in some food applications, such as charcuterie and the brine used to make corned beef.[7] Sodium nitrate (and nitrite) have mostly supplanted potassium nitrate's culinary usage, as they are more reliable in preventing bacterial infection than saltpetre. All three give cured salami and corned beef their characteristic pink hue.

Potassium nitrate is also commonly used in the heat treatment of metals as a solvent in the post-wash. The oxidizing, water solubility and low cost make it an ideal short-term rust inhibitor

-Claws (no use except claw spear)
-Tooth (no use) - well they were used as ammunition. but in fact its strange item, why is it in game anyway?

-Bones (no use) - could be used to make some simple tools i guess

also you planned to add salt into game, to make salted meat, right?

I suppose i should help here, since i could come up with some ideas...

-Charcoal (blackpowder, fuel, maps, journal notes, markings only) Charcoal could be used in a useful system to distill water. Charcoal could also be used, and this would be an entirely new "building", a small grill. Just like the normal grill, just smaller, and packable so you can move it. A kit, say, for 5 wood, 5 stones, and charcoal to fuel the small fire. Really useful when on the other side of a giant island. This plus the tent would be the great "Adventurer Kit".

-Cotton\Wool (thread only) Cotton\Wool could be used to make buildings too. Since you just make "Wooden House", or "Hut", you could add these into the construction, since you need insulation, far more realistic then just a pile of sticks and leaves. It would not affect game play or anything, just something extra you need.

-Coal (blackpowder, steel, fuel only) Other then these, coal could easily be used to heat yourself up. You could put "red hot" coal in a bucket, and keep it on your person, decreasing fatigue loss?

-Bendable branches (bolts, bows, fishing rods only) Now this is so, so very simple. I know some of you will know what this is from, so im just going to say it. Farcry. Use the bendable branches to make tree traps! Great use for teeth and claws too, as you build it on a tree. 1 Bendable branch, 4 or so vines, 6 teeth/claws, and viola! you have a tree trap to kill small animals like monkeys and hurting lions.

-Vines) Vines are tricky to think of something... But maybe you could use them to... build... the... i got nothing...

-Skins) Skins, like the other fellows before me, could be used to make clothes. Just things in your inventory that degrade after so long and give small bonuses. And, i know you wont put this in, but im saying this anyway, use them as a disguise! So monkeys wont run away from you! (fail, i know)

-Pebbles) Pebbles are not used in squat all, so i have like 500 of them early game. Pebbles could be useful for a LOT of things. And as the man before me, you could use pebbles and hammer to crush the pebbles into a fine sand, say, 50 pebbles to make 1 thing of sand. You would need a container for the sand, obviously, say the clay bucket you use for forging. Once you have the sand, you can use it in the forge to make glass bottles! With a high chance of failing, since its very hard to do this.

-Bark (fire & paper only) Bark is interesting, and somehow I'm not sure where it could be used... Aha! Bark could be used... ah nvm

-Bamboo (bolts only) Like the gents before me, use them as pipes for multiple uses. Underwater, blowpipes, etc. But, since this would be a big plus, use it to sail with rafts/log boats! You have no other means of propulsion, so add the bamboo to them as the skin so you have a plausible means of movement.

-Clay (bottle\bucket only) Clay... well you need clay to make the bottle and bucket obviously, but you need other things as well! Because frying eggs with your hands is stupid, make a pan to cook it. And a soup pot of course! Have the meat and water as a basic soup, meat, blood leaf, water, and salt (which apparently you are going to add) to make a really good soup, for like twice the food/water then the normal soup.

-Fuses) Look, i don't see how fuses could be use other then blowing things up.

-Crystals (no use) Mah gosh, crystals could be used in a lot of stuff. Not that i know any.

-Feathers (arrows only) Simple, use feathers to make a sleeping bag or pillow.

-Oil (fuel only) Now i have no idea oil was in the game at all. Where do you get it? Anyway, oil could be used to make a few things, like lamps, from the glass that pebbles could be crushed as.

-Dirt (raising land only) Hm.. Dirt... the ninth wonder of the world . Though, since dirt is so wonderful, it could be used to make some dirt walls? Other then going up and down on the ground, just make walls with it, simple as that.

-Poison (no use) Aw man im surprised nobody has seen this before! Use it to make poisoned meat, to throw at lions, which makes them slow and damaged over time! Other then that, you could poison anything, like monkeys, sharks, piranhas, etc. Of course if you did this, you could have to take the chance that the meat of the animal is not poisoned... the results could be... deadly.

-Claws (no use except claw spear), Tooth (no use) Claws and teeth, as i said with bendable branch, could be used with traps. Other then this, you could use them as ammunition for blow darts! Poison them too, make poisoned darts, etc. Though you would need a knife to carve them into the darts.

-Flint (fire only) Hm, flint, this is a hard one. No idea.

-Bones (no use) Bones, well you don't generally get bones, unless you add them to corpses that is. Bones could be used in a multitude of things, like carving them into spikes, bone knives, others im not sure of. Could be used as pitfall trap spikes though.

You should really fix the charcoal writing and stuff you know, bugging me with diary pages. One other thing, you could add a book with glue, bark and paper? Something you don't get till late game of course, because there are so many recipes and such. You just use charcoal to write in it say, easy stuff.

New Feature:
When you go to sleep, foods and forge items will work as usual. So you can throw some bread on the fire and head off to sleep and it'll be done when you wake up.

In other news, just a few more small things to do before I release the new version. Sometime this week I think.

Things To Do:
-Function for retrieving saltwater from the ocean ×
-3 new items (saltwater in clay bottle, saltwater in glass bottle, salt) ×
-Hook that all up to the distilling script ×
-Fix all the ID's on steel items. ×
-Additional timer on food before it has the 'burn' chance ×
-'Dull' Tool Heads, need to be sharpened ×
-Misc fixes\additions

As for the models, as a 3d artist by trade I would be more than happy to provide needed models and textures.

It would be great if you could make some simple structures that would take clay bricks. Such as short clay brick walls, small clay brick house (like the hut\house in MM), ect.

Maybe some kind of stationary glowing crystal "torch"? Making crystal rare or not as bright as a torch to counter the fact that it wouldn't need fuel or could stay lit during rain.

Or being able to cut the crystal and use it as glass for things like lanterns and bottles.

I've been trying to come up with uses for crystal seeing as how impractical it is for survival = /

Also, is it possible to make animals roam free? Currently they seem to stay near whatever spawned them, making walls and trenches useless should you destroy the local predators or their nests. With them wandering aimlessly there would be a delicious sense of fear, adding some more excitement to the game.

I know it's possible to do. I just don't know if the time and effort put into it would really be justified by the rather minimal effects on gameplay.

i have an idea with the useless item, here's the idea:
vine, you can use it to make a blunt stone knife, the recipe is:1xstone,1xbranch,and 1 vine.since it blunt, the damage of the stone knife is 5, sharping it using flint stone will make it sharp, and the name are changed, its name are stone knife, it will deal 8 damage.

Well, technically you are wrong. (Don't shoot me for nitpicking)

Stone knives were not made from average stone by sharpening it with flint, but rather, the other way around.

A large flint boulder was whacked with a softer average stone, until a suitable shard was produced. After that, the shard's edges were gently pressed with a smaller average stone and small pieces were broken off. No sharpening by friction was involved.
That is possible due to the flint's structure, by pressing it just the right way, it breaks leaving an edge that's sharp at molecular level.
Something that cannot be achieved with sharpened steel (That can be achieved with chemically sharpened steel, but the edge is a lot less durable than flint.)

Actually, until laser surgery was invented, flint scalpels were sometimes used for complicated surgery. Yup, flint knives in the 20th century.

Making flint knives is not that hard, it just takes some practice. I made some myself while I was bored while camping. Just don't cut yourself with one... the result is ... more than painful.

Ok, so I suppose the recipe for a flint knife would be Flint+Vine+Stone and it would need recombining with a normal stone when getting dull.

1xbranch+2xbark+1xknife+1xhammer=1xwooden gun
info: a wooden gun, it used to shoot little thing very fast.
10xstone+1xhammer=stone club

I would think 1 clay would be enough?
and it would make a wet brick not a brick
and this:1xbranch+2xbark+1xknife+1xhammer=1xwooden gun

would be unacceptable as how can a you create a gun with just branch and bark?
